Feel the need to direct some anger at a fictional character? This is a great choice!
This anger inducing book follows a young married couple on the verge of parenthood. Everything is perfect - until she goes into labor. Something doesn’t seem right with Zack. The machines are going off and he’s unconcerned. Of course, he is an obgyn so everything must be fine….right?
After the birth, Holly has trouble remembering all kinds of things and Zack doesn’t seem to be acting like himself. He’s overly controlling, trying to convince her of things she’s almost positive never happened - or at least happened differently. What’s the truth in this situation?
After Holly begins to figure things out, a young girl is found murdered - and Zack is a suspect. He asks her for an alibi, and while she knows it’s a lie she stands by her man. She knows something isn’t right, but it’s best for everyone to go along with it.
Things get even more crazy and she realizes - only one of them will make it out alive - but which one?
Shoutout to NetGalley for the audiobook of this one! It was so good, even if it did make me angry!

My advice? Get the audiobook, head to the gym and use it to motivate your inner anger and get in a killer workout. I should have done that. It would have been fantastic.
So anyway, there’s a couple of characters here. Kat - the dumb dumb and Eve - the jerk face. And yes, I did clean up my opinions on them for Instagram.
Seriously, GOOGLE IS FREE. The amount of times that crossed my mind to yell at the main character was insane. I mean how gullible can one person really be?!
There are a ton of random side characters that really didn’t have any place in the story. This would have been better as a short story. “Twists” are great, but this was excessive to the point where it was just annoying.
And then the end came. Tada.
Unless you feel the need to become irrationally angry at fictional characters - I would not recommend.
⭐️⭐️
However - this book has an average rating of 4.5/5 on Google Play (see-it’s free) so - take from that what you will.
If you’ve been reading up on the Crane Family you may find yourself confused at the start of this book. Why? Simply because it starts with the introduction of a new character.
Dani Jade has witnessed some awful things in her life. The most recent has sent her running and afraid for her life. During one of her nightmares she screams and comes face to face with Ryan Crane and his brother Nick.
Fast forward a bit and naturally there’s a love interest - Dani and Nick - and this sends the family into a deep dive where they discover that Dani’s problem is very intertwined with their own problems.
BUT WAIT! This book includes the blossoming love between Luke and Robby! On top of all of that, an old enemy resurfaces to take on the Crane Mafia - and the new Lucinio Mafia that is run by Alex and Josh who are part of the Crane family at heart.
So much is unearthed in this book! There are explanations into many of the circumstances in the previous books and it ties together nicely. But that ending?! Ugh! I’m on the edge of my seating waiting for the next release!

This was listed as a horror and while I can see that, it didn’t have the fear factor I was hoping for. It was an enjoyable story but I do feel that it was a bit too short.
Basically Claire makes a virus. Claire is told to destroy said virus. Claire doesn’t want to. Claire doesn’t. Claire breaks the world. Pretty common storyline.
There are many underlying bits to this story though that made it quite enjoyable for me. First and most importantly to me, this story makes me think about blind trust. We do blindly trust people in positions of authority to be responsible. We assume that they have the best interests of the majority at heart. This story brings to light the real life horror of when that doesn’t happen.
Secondly, what will any of us do to protect the ones we love? This is clearly written on an apocalyptic level, but it doesn’t start out that way. In reality though, would any of us think it’s the end of the world until we were knee deep in it?
Third, trusting your gut. Here is where I gotta not say much or I’ll ruin the entire story. Basically though, gut instincts - should we really trust them?
Overall, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This short story really got me thinking. I did enjoy it though.
Oh my goodness the whole Crane family has my heart! In this continuing saga of the Crane Family Mafia, we get an inside look into the way competing mafias treat their women and what the Crane family will do about it.
Arianna escaped her father at the end of the previous book, but what happens next? Well, here we get to find out. Did her father just let her leave without a fight? Of course not, we are talking about mafias that treat women like property after all. Her father is relentless in tracking her down to put an end to her relationship with Ryan - the king of the Crane Mafia. Ryan isn’t going to give up his woman without a fight. She’s family. And no one messes with his family.
There are several twists and turns, including unlikely friends - and unlikely enemies. All the favorite characters are back to support Ryan and Arianna through this trying time.
If you want a book with steam, suspense and strong family bonds - this is the book for you!
