Yes received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was an okay book. Solid writing but in my opinion it didn’t hit the mark for a thriller. When someone says thriller this isn’t what comes to mind. If I hadn’t been expecting a thriller I feel I would have enjoyed this better. I see other reviews mention the twists and turns but I found those very predictable and they did not keep me interested.

The one thing that really irked me though was the way that mental illness was described in this book. As someone that suffers from mental illness, this book handled it in a very stereotypical way which annoys me.

I love this series. This storyline isn’t quite where I thought it was going to go when I read the cover. It was a good storyline, but it felt incredibly similar to the way the story unfolded anyway. I was hoping for something different, a real twist to the story of Cinderella. That isn’t what I got, but I did get a decent story.

Disappointing

This installment in the Hannah Swenson series was disappointing on several levels. First being, with murder in the title, there should be a murder. Or it could be called something else. Second, I missed the memo completely that this was a flashback so I spent much of this book trying to establish the timeline. So many things in this book had already happened in the series and I thought I was losing my mind! The story was more focused on the food -which yay food- but it’s a cozy mystery. The mystery was on the back burner for most of this book and then wrapped itself up in the final few chapters out of nowhere.

After this one, will I continue this series? Of course I will because I obviously crave torture.

It has been a long time since I’ve picked up a book that I couldn’t put down! So much happened in this book, but I didn’t feel overwhelmed with information. This book is the perfect amount of creepy, especially for someone like me that is a firm believer in the paranormal! I hope there are more books to this story because the cliffhanger really got me!

Thanks to Booksirens I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

This was an entire book of “what on earth did I just read?” That’s all I got.

While this book was well written and organized, I went into it expecting it to be about Michelle, Amanda and Gina. As it turns out, this was a story about Ariel Castro and his disgusting mind. I remember when this broke - it was intense and we were all shocked. I’m glad the girls got their own books because their stories were what I was interested in more than their abuser.

I enjoyed this! It took me back to my high school reading but was a different story. Same feel, but not a reread.
