wow this was an uncomfortable, creepy read. Some really good topics brought up: colonialism, racism, misogyny. Would have loved if the IOF soldier was addressed .. like, at all.
Wanted a punchier ending. But overall, a good book.

Deducting a point for the cat deaths. Otherwise, this was great - creepy AF and super tense.
I listened to this via audio and …. the story was good but the audio wasn’t awesome. This is the first time I’ve not liked narration by the author! This is petty, but she used the word “literally” a lot in the book and it was noticeable because she pronounced it LiTTTeraLLLLy.
The story itself was super motivating - lots of sucking it up and doing hard things. Jenny’s journey was inspiring.
For some reason, this didn’t quite scratch the romantasy itch. I think maybe because it was historical?
Despite having OCD, I didn’t really connect to the OCD rep in the book which bummed me out because I was super excited for a romantasy with OCD rep. Overall, probably a high 3, low 4.

ok, super similar to TOG but i don't hate it. I kind of love it. BUT i do hate the reference to "twin flames"
oooh I liked this. A creepy novella that touches on generational trauma, class, grudges and revenge.
so much fun! Def peaky blinders vibes mixed with gods & magic. I just ordered book 2 and I'm annoyed it's going to take a week to get here.
ok I LOVED this book. I cried towards the end. Ugh, this book had so much heart. It was also nerve wracking because I was waiting for it to all fall apart.
State of Paradise is an incredibly weird, speculative fiction. I feel like this book has been getting mixed reviews, but I freaking loved it. Amazing writing. Super Unique. GAH, this was so good.
