Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the eARC of Lady Scandal!  All opinions in this review are my own.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I don't love the hate to love trope.  I think it is really difficult to strike a balance between being able to build that tension while also not making the characters hate each other too much.

I should not have been surprised that Laura Lee Guhrke was able to write one I actually enjoyed though!  I loved Bookshop Cinderella so I was excited to read Lady Scandal and it did not disappoint!  While Guhrke is able to put Delia and Simon at odds professionally, their personalities are more grumpy/sunshine which helps to make them falling for each other more believable later.  I can't wait to read the next book in the Scandal at the Savoy series!

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the eARC of Finding Mr. Write!  All opinions in this review are my own.

I really enjoyed this one at the start and it was a lot of fun.  However, I felt like after awhile it became a little repetitive with another situation of how close can Daphne and Chris to getting caught but find a way to get out of it at the last minute.  Overall, I really liked the concept and how they handled everything in the epilogue.

The premise of this book sounds both funny and sweet, and I have read such good reviews about this book!  However, there is way too many descriptions of pee and other bodily fluids for me.  I know this is part of life and getting older, but I don't want to read about it.

Thank you Harper Perennial and BiblioLifestyle for the gifted copy of The Children of Jocasta!  All opinions in this review are my own.

I have heard such great things about Natalie Haynes's books and The Children of Jocasta lived up to the hype!  I loved this women-centered retelling of a classic Greek story.  I can't wait to read more from her!

Thank you Macmillan Audio and Libro FM for the ALC of Somewhere Beyond the Sea!  All opinions in this review are my own.

I could not have picked a better time to return to Marsyas Island.  This book brought me so much comfort and I love reading about the shenanigans  of the children at the orphanage.  While this book is laugh out loud funny at times, it does deal with some heavier topics as well like being true to yourself even when other people are telling you not to be.  Klune balances the funny and emotional moments to create a book that is so welcoming.  I hope he continues to write many more in this series!

Obviously you can't have a good audiobook with a good story, but Daniel Henning's narration is phenomenal!  He brings each character to life with their own distinct voice (Chauncey being my favorite).  Even if you have already read the first book in the series or this one, consider the audiobook version for a reread because it is worth it!

Thank you Crown Publishing and NetGalley for the eARC of Inside Mercedes F1!  All opinions in this review are my own.

Being a fan of Mercedes, I was both excited to read this book and dreading the recap of the 2023 season.  Much to my delight, because it was so focused on Mercedes, the monotany of last season didn't make it into the book!

I loved this deep dive in the Mercedes F1 team and especially how it highlights different members of the team.  As much as I love Lewis and Toto, I do like to hear about the other people behind the car and their relationships within the team.

I also really liked that this book continued into the 2024 season!  One of my favorite moments from this season was when Lewis won at Silverstone so I am happy that is what the book ends on!

Thank you Kensington Books and BiblioLifestyle for the gifted copy of The Last Witch of Edinburgh!  All opinions in this book are my own.

I knew I was going to love this one from the start because it is set in Scotland!  The Last Witch in Edinburgh follows Nellie who runs from her city after a witch hunt breaks out, but learns that the past is never too far behind you.  I love how the author blended the past and present, and compared the witch trials to modern day problems that women face.  I recommend this one if you aren't ready to stop reading your fall books yet!
