Reread in anticipation of The Fragile Threads of Power. It has been three years since I read his book and though I remembered pieces, I did not remember everything. So I knew I needed to reread this. Loved it just as much as I did the first time! #teamholland

This was a solid 4 stars for me! Probably shouldn’t have read it as a hurricane is coming, but too late.

Really enjoyed this historical fiction with creepy vampires!

Really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the beginning and I love how it turned out in the end.

Thank you to the publisher for a Netgalley copy of this book.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I found the story to be compelling and once I got used to the voice of the narrator, I was turning pages very quickly. The family dynamics were well written, as were the flashbacks in time. The lawyer/police procedural part of this book did not overtake the story, but helped move the story along where without it we would've been in a standstill.

What I did not like about the book was the amount of inner dialogue. Luckily, a good chunk of it was written in footnotes, which I began to skip after awhile. I didn't feel as if they were adding to my experience. Inner dialogue was what kept my from loving I Have Some Questions for You earlier this year, but the difference here was the case was way more interesting and the footnotes taking away some of this dialogue.

Definitely recommend this one which is out 8.29.23.

This will def be one of the best of the 23-24 list!

So thankful to Random House for this one.

Fable was my first Adrienne Young book, and the sequel nor last year's Spells For Forgetting have disappointed. This newest one was no different. I absolutely loved the story of the Farrow women. The women were strong characters and the writing was wonderfully done.

I honestly cannot say a lot because if I go too much into the story it is a spoiler, as the synopsis does not give this part away. Let's just say I highly recommend.

Students will love this one!
