Over 100 pages in. Not much serial killing. And apparently, if you ask this author, all women giggle. About 20 times since the beginning of the book.
I enjoyed this one. Creative premise and well written. Just needed about 50 more page to flesh out a couple things. But overall would recommend!
Thank you to the publisher for a Netgalley.
Dervla McTiernan, in my opinion, is an underrated mystery writer. Her Cormac Reilly series is so good, though I am impatiently waiting for book 4.
But anyways, DM writes another great book here. Though we know how this mystery goes, we watch two families grapple with the truths they've been dealt. Nina and Simon are "the" couple. But Nina is now missing and Simon, of course, is the number 1 suspect.
We hear from multiple points of view in this story, which was really well done. As t he story unfolds, you begin to question what you would do in this situation. You see yourself in both moms, or dads. And the ending is so, so satisfying.

Really enjoyed the second book in this duology. Wish I would have read it sooner.
Thank you to Kensington Press for a copy of book 2 in this series!
Please do not look at 3 stars and pass over this book. I really enjoy the characters in this series and the descriptions of food are to die for. The mystery is solid and it comes together really well. My only qualm about this one is it dragged in the middle a bit. But overall this is a fun cozy series!

Thank you to Atria for a Netgalley.
Well this was quiet the twisty suspense novel. Many moving pieces, but not so many that you cannot keep up. Ruth's story was extremely intriguing and watching that story unfold was entertaining. Cavanagh slowly released piece by piece with Ruth and it was well executed.
Amanda's story was also interesting to read. As we watched her work through her own grief and her friendship with Naomi, you just knew it was not going to be that simple.
I enjoyed the ending as well even though one piece of that ending made me just go "Nope. Never."
Highly recommend for thriller/suspense fans.

Like the concept. A small town in Sicily selling houses for a single euro and of course a town that has secrets.... In for that plot.
While I enjoyed the story overall, I didn't enjoy the main couple. I thought their chemistry was meh, their dialogue was childish, and their ideas of taking a sleepy town to build it up for tourism felt very stereotypical.
I would def read this author again though as the story itself was intriguing.

Great wrap up to such a fun trilogy. It was nice to see all the pieces come together.
This book was fabulous. I really enjoyed the characters, the plot, and the writing. This was originally 4 stars because the flashbacks, in my opinion, were not needed. But the author's note at the end bumped it up to 4.5.
