I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. It was fun. The whole Day family was quite fun and Benji's story was well developed. Any genre that takes place in a small town or "locked down" area makes me happy.

My only meh was the too cookie cutter ending. I liked parts of the ending but would prefer it to be slightly different.

I loved that Benji was alive. Would have preferred him to not have remembered everything that happened. And Florence finding her own footing without a man.

Loved, loved, loved.

This to me was just so much fun. I loved the characters, including all of the side characters. Predictable? Of course. However, just because it is predictable does not make it less fun. The setting was wonderful and the small town feel is always one of my favs.

I am 3/5 on EH books since Beach Read. So I was excited that this was wayyyy better than Happy Place.

Holly Jackson does it again. I thought I loved her AGGGTM trilogy. This book tops that one for sure.

A really well written story, with some twists you can see and some you cannot, that is an absolute page turner. Jackson really sets up the story well at the beginning, and continues to execute it well throughout the rest of the book. The film crew added to the book as it opened avenues to different theories and questions.

My only reason this is 4.5 is the ending was a tad too far for me. Not terrible, and I enjoyed the overall ending. The reveal, as always mysteries have, was perfectly explained. But some the steps to get to the final ending was like no effing way.

I have many feelings about this book. Like a ton.

First, my main complaint is this book seriously needs an editor. Being 200 pages LONGER than book 3 in the original trilogy, I thought there would be more depth. No. There sure wasn't. There was 200 extra pages of smut. Got it. Envy has a huge d*ck. We all get it. The first 30 times it was said and described.

As many have mentioned, the relationship between Camilla and Envy was fine.

I enjoyed the beginning of the story a lot. We had a game a foot and there were clues. Then somewhere in there, it became multiple sex scenes, the game was no longer a foot it felt, and it was repetitive.

They work together. They piss each other off. They almost have sex. They can stand each other again. Rinse and repeat.

I LOVED hanging out with Sloth for awhile and hope we get to see more of him sooner rather than later.

And before anyone @ me. I am not against steamy books. But you can still move a plot at more than a glacier pace while allowing the characters to have endless sex.

Thank you to the publisher for a free Netgalley copy.

I enjoyed this second book in the DC Morgan series more than book one. In this murder mystery, we are looking for a suspect among a group of regular people on a reality competition show.

I found the mystery to be entertaining and enjoyed all of the main characters in the book. We got to know DC Morgan more, as well as, her partner who I enjoyed. Mackintosh spins a good story and to me it was extremely fast paced. Def recommend this series.

Loved this story taking place in Madrid. Magic, visions, a deadly contest, and much more. Bardugo spins a wonderful story and I devoured this book!

Jo Piazza is an author I just love. From her co-authored books early on to Charlotte Walsh and now to Sicily.

I loved the premise of this story. Sara is lost and needs help. Her Aunt Rosie, who Sara was most close to, dies and sends Sara on an adventure. Rosie claims there is land in a small Sicilian village that belongs to her family. She also asks Sara to find out what happened to her mother Serafina-- Sara's namesake.

This adventure is risky and necessary as Sara is in desperate need for money. I loved the description of the scenery and Serafina's timeline. The women of this village that long ago were so much stronger than they were ever given credit for. How we see them come together in times of need, knowing the men will not be useful was empowering and sad at the same time.

Why this was 4 and not 5 stars for me was the fact that I found Serafina's story to be more fleshed out than Sara's. Like what happens next for her. Did I love having an epilogue for Serafina? YES! But I NEEDED an epilogue for Sara.

This was boring. Just really, really boring. I am 1/3 of the way through and just don't care.

So happy this was an aardvark pick.

This horror novel set in a tiny village in Italy was an absolute page turner. Vacationing with your whole family is hard enough— especially Anna’s ridiculous family. But throw in a ghost, mysterious things happening and more that I will not say?

Thanks to Denis @scaredstraightreads for putting this on my radar in the first place.
