finally i am done with this! this book had it's moments, it's got a lot of interesting politics and philosophy and the setting is pretty interesting but it was just so boring at times. the really good parts were few and far between. i just couldn't focus on this for long periods of time. i don't think i'll bother reading any of the sequels.

This is a solid YA, coming-of-age story about (found) family and (online) friends and it's good rep for asexual kids.

However, it's not really my cup of tea and it let me down a bit. Comparing anything to Six of Crows or Kaz Brekker is going to give me VERY HIGH expectations, especially when we're comparing heist books. The heist wasn't as suspenseful as I was hoping for. Also, generally speaking, I should probably stay away from YA - I'm starting to grow out of it and it's starting to feel a little too repetitive and childish.

But for someone who likes YA, this is great. I was worried it would sound a little too much like (bad) fanfiction. It didn't.

This is the kind of book that makes you think and I'd probably get more out of it if I re-read it and I probably will read it again someday in the future but rn I don't have the time.

I don't really know how to describe this book. I think the comparisons to [b:The Secret History|29044|The Secret History|Donna Tartt|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1451554846l/29044._SY75_.jpg|221359] and [b:If We Were Villains|30319086|If We Were Villains|M.L. Also I was told this is "more vibes than plot" which I somewhat agree with. It's a slow paced book, and I think it was written mostly for the dark academia aesthetic but it does still have a plot.

I currently have an awful lot of studying to do but I chose these books for my downtime reading and oh boy, did I make the BEST choice.

Interesting plot and funny takes from the lovely Rose Hathaway! Some light reading about vampires for when I'm stressed. The movie definitely didn't do justice and I'm equally excited and terrified of the upcoming tv series.

Marie Lu has done it again.

I was a bit hesitant to read this because I loved The Young Elites series so I wasn't sure if this was going to be as good. But it is! It's really good!

This is definitely the best book of the series so far. I don't get how these books are so addicting. It's been 11 days, I've been studying daily and I've still managed to read 4 of these books. I was planning for these to last me for a month (since I'm now studying full time this month) but there's no way the last two books are going to last for 3 weeks at this rate.

You guys should definitely read these.

I absolutely loved this book! I couldn't sleep untill it was finished. The ending broke my heart.
