Yeah, I think it's safe to say I've found a new favorite author.
If you want family secrets with a hint of magic, this book is for you.

This was a fast read, which was lucky because I only had 3 days to read this.
It's a book about equality and it's gay and feminist and you might not believe me but it's actually a very nice read and much lighter than you'd think a book about oppression would be.
So if you've been eyeing this, thinking you might like it, you probably will.

I just finished this and the tears haven't dried yet.
I wasn't expecting to read a book about a film star and her relationships and be this invested in it. It just sounds boring.
But I saw a lot of people saying they love the book so I thought I'd give it a try and I'm so glad I did. I couldn't put this down. The characters are so interesting, her life is so interesting to read about.
And I guess this might be another book that I want to buy for myself.

I'm not quite sure what I think about this book. It was good and I liked it, almost gave this 4 stars.
But it was a little slow and I'm not really a fan of slow burn. Also, I could tell what the major plot twist was from very early in the book so it was kind of annoying for it to happen so late in the book.

PLOT TWISTS, MAGIC, EVIL KING, REBELS, CHARACTER GROWTH, ROMANCE. What else could you ask for? This is wonderful!
This duology has become my new favorite and it's a shame it's not more hyped up because these books deserve so much more love!
It's an amazing fantasy, with great world building and the Spanish aspects make it stand out from other YA series. I'm also not sure if this is YA or NA but whatever.
I love the characters, especially the main character. I love reading about her growth during the books and even if you aren't someone who likes to read about the characters you should still read this because this is fast-paced and the plot twists are impeccable.
I have made it my mission to get more people to read this series.

This one's going to the 'favorites' -shelf...
I don't want to tell you too much about this because I don't want to spoil anything. But it was really good.
I liked the writing style (you can take this with a grain of salt, English is my 2nd language).
And I liked the main character, she kinda reminds me of Adelina from Young Elites (if you haven't read those books either, you should). Also, the other characters are all so interesting, partly because you always have to look out for spies and worry about their motives.
This was fast paced as well and this has some of my favorite tropes but I'm not gonna tell you what those are. Just when you think it's about to get boring, something new happens.
I need the second book RIGHT NOW!

I'm not gonna lie: 500 pages in fine print got me questioning the whole book.
But it turns out it was actually really good so I did get through it eventually.
I liked that this had a lot of world building and it was character driven and so so much plot that I can't wait to read the second one. Actually, let me go look this up from my library right now.... OH! Oh no. I have to wait till MAY until it's even PUBLISHED!? Well.. I guess I'm just lucky to be here so early...
I really liked the characters, even though the one with most POV's was my least favorite. I also hate that there were things very clearly hinted at but not really explained. Drives me crazy but I'll allow it because it was just one thing and I really liked this.
And there was so much queer representation! This was the first book I've ever read that used neopronouns and I gotta say at first I was confused and thought it was a typo. But more of this, please! I also think this might be more of new adult than young adult because the characters didn't really have that internal battle of "am I straight? Gay? What am I? I can't like a girl". They just were. You know? Like they already had the realization they were queer and had accepted and it's actually so nice.
Oh, I'm so looking forward to the next one.

I'm not sure how much I liked this or if I would want to buy these books...
I expected an enemies to lovers type of fantasy with a lot of intrigue since it's about royalty and rebels but this book didn't have enough ENEMIES to my taste, it turned into a romance really fast and that took me by surprise. But if I wanted a fantasy ROMANCE this would be something I'd re-read.
