I read this for class and it was just truly awful

The second star is soley for Mephistopheles because I would die for him. I loved my magician boi
The rest was fine. It was a legit 2 star read. I didn't like the plot devices that were used (lack of communication mainly) and it was set up less like a murder mystery than the last two. It just really lacked a lot and I'm sad I didn't enjoy my time reading it.

I forgot how much I loved this book. its been a good 4 years since I've read it and I'd forgotten so much. I absolutely devoured it and I'm going to start Torch immediately.

I was really really worried going into this knowing that it took Sabaa years to write Ember. I was so afraid it would fall short because of how fast she'd had to write this book. But let me tell you, Sabaa delivered a sequel worthy of its predecessor.

We delve deeper into the Empire than we ever have before and its fantastic. I love the darkness of the world that Sabaa has created. She's not afraid to be ruthless with her characters and to make them suffer.

This books absolutely left me reeling. I'm so upset that I'll have to wait another year for the next in the series (since she announced two more to come!!). I have so many questions and so many unresolved feelings.

I'm going to leave it here for now, until everybody else gets a chance to read it.

2018 reread: imagine me. but screaming.

I enjoyed it less than Crimson Bound but I did overall enjoy it. The beginning was meh but the rest was *chefs kiss*

My feelings? Hurt.
My heart? In pieces.
Am I crying? Definitely.
This series will always have a special place in my heart as the series that got me into fantasy.
Aside from needing a dash of gay (unsurprising), this conclusion was extremely satisfying. It gave me everything I wanted for these characters and not without sacrifices or struggles. Also it was super satisfying to have an actual giant war and not just a big battle at the end that was the be-all-end-all (I'm eyeing you, ACOWAR) It was good, folks

FIRST OF ALL

IS THIS REAL????????

Shout out to required reading for school

I'm counting this too because I had to read more than 100 pages of it
