It was just very badly written and not very original.
The MC was ~not like other girls~
There was a lot of emotional manipulation by one guy
The other was ~perfect~ because they both had dead moms.
There were a lot of things that didn't make sense. Also tw for su*c*de

I remember why I wanted the sequel but also cringed real hard at how Paris reacted to Vi saying he was a man. "Paris couldn't imagine putting on a dress and pretending he was a woman, much less actually thinking it made him one." Like fuck that dude. Vi is fucking valid. Vi is the best character okay.

One of my bad depression habits is reading a bunch of kindle romance novels and this is the first of them.
This started out good. I was really enjoying it and then as soon as the plot took off, I realized I was 82% of the way done with the book. The resolution was so quick and easy.
The description promised a secret baby and there wasn't even a secret baby. Dude just knocked up his client and they were like "shit I'm in love let's move in together and get married" I feel betrayed

This one was a bit more alpha male bullshit than the first one but I enjoyed it.

The aliens were a weird spin I wasn't ready for. But I otherwise really enjoyed this. The world was super interesting and the characters are fun.

I guess I was expecting more of an epic oops
