I'm mostly angry.
I wanted to love this book.
I loved the first one. It was one of my favorite reads of 2016. But this sequel.
I almost wish I hadn't read it.

It ruined everything I loved about these characters. All of the character development from the first book was stripped away. The time jumps were a lazy way to drive the plot.

also tw for drug use and addiction.
Its a sensitive topic for me and I REALLY wish I'd known before going into this book. I was shaking at the end.

Anyway, I'm just really mad okay. This book should not have happened.

So... its over.

This was definitely my least favorite book in the series. The beginning was so slow and the end seemed so rushed. I'm not even 100% on how everything ended. it made less and less sense as the book grew closer to the end. I still love these characters but the ending seemed too clean and simple. so many things were never explained.

I forgot how gd addictive these books are. I devoured this. On to Unravel Me!

Do you ever just finish a book and have the sequel right there? and then you look at your pile of unfinished homework? and then you pick up the book anyway. Because this is one of those times.

In all seriousness. I devoured this like I did Shatter Me and I truly forgot how much I loved these books.

This is technically a DNF because I'm accepting that I'm not finishing the audiobook, but I did listen to all but the last hour.

I don't think this one is a great audiobook. I found the narrator annoying. But every character in the book was also so whiny. Edward was whining because he lost his throne. Jane was whining because she wanted to read (WHCIH SHE DID ANYWAY ALL THE TIME). And Gifford whined about being a horse and misunderstood.
Overall, I didn't care about Edward's chapters at all. I wanted to skip them tbh.
Gifford and Jane could have easily solved all of their problems if they just tried or communicated. And like people were trying to help and they just refused all the time????
AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS FUNNY AND IT WASNT FUNNY. I THINK I LAUGHED LIKE 4 TIMES. I FEEL SO BETRAYED.

I'm so sad its over 😭😭

This book shattered my heart and put it back together. This series was amazing and its so sad to see it end, but it so got the ending it deserved.

This was a fantastic depiction of how some people react to trauma. I saw so much of myself in Eden. Which was a bit rough, tbh.

I saw a lot of reviews mention Eden's drug abuse but she literally smoked weed twice. I was probably worse in high school than Eden was in every way except surrounding sex.

But this was a good story. It was a necessary one, as much as it hurts to say.

HI I LOVED THIS.
IT WAS SO INSIGHTFUL AS TO HOW WE PERCIEVE OTHER SOCIETIES AND THEIR CULTURAL PRACTICES. WE PUSH OUR CULTURAL TABOOS ONTO OTHER CULTURES AND ITS SAD. IT STRIPS PEOPLE OF THEIR OWN CULTURES AND VALUES.
I really really loved this though. I can't recommend highly enough.
