This book played with my feels. A lot.
Double universes of stars/5

The main characters fit the classic daddy's girl and bad boy stereotypes at first, which I found I enjoyed. I enjoyed it even more with the spins Amie and Jay put on them. I grew really attached.
Along with new characters, we see old characters from the first book, Illuminae.

I love the universe and the logic and the subplots in top of subplots. This book was just so good.

I was a little hesitant going in because of the character change but I found I loved it even more than the first. It was everything I wanted it to be and more.

4.5/5 stars
IT WAS NOTHING LIKE I WAS EXPECTING IT TO BE. IT WAS SO MUCH BETTER.
This story was just so whimsical and cute, if not a little bit dark. It had a lot if heart warming moments and some suspense and I just loved it so much. The world building was wonderful and unique.
It was a little slow to start, and a bit confusing in the beginning, but it picked up and was excellent all the way through the rest.

I loved this books yaaas.

I aggressively ship August and Kate even though I think it was supposed to be more friendship like feels.

*round of applause*

A stunning debut from Jessica Cluess.

In the beginning, I was expecting another cliche "she's the chosen one" fantasy promising darkness but not being dark, her falling in love with more than one guy, and the bad guy being the face of pure evil.

What I got was not that at all.

(not a spoiler) Cluess begs the question that if you're not the chosen one, can you still be useful and is the chosen one really needed?
The MC Henrietta is smart and sensible with slight anger issues. She has the ability to make a decision that makes sense, which is wonderful to have in a heroine. but still gets angry and emotional like any person would.

THE DARKNESS THAT WAS PROMISED DELIVERS. Unlike recent fantasy reads I'd had high hopes for, this one actually brought it. I loved how dark it was at times and how that darkness didn't scare Henrietta. The darkness was heavy in the world building and it was so wonderful.

All of the side characters were well developed and had a reason for being. There are just so many to love. Rook. Blackwood. Hargrove. They're all just wonderful.

AND THE VILLAIN YAAAS. I loved him/them. There are 7 in all, the Ancients. 6 of them are very beast-like and animalistic. They're things of nightmares. The 7th is intelligent and human-like. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. There is nothing better than a smart bad guy.

All in all, I ended up loving this book so much more than I thought I would. I can't wait for it to be released into the world for everyone to read.

I can definitely see why people are calling this complete fan fiction. It's all a bit far fetched. But its also Harry Potter, so is it really?

It was really nice to read about the Golden Trio again and their children. It was so wonderful to be back in the Wizarding World, facing new problems and seeing how thongs have changed. I'm sad we won't get to go back to see more of Harry and his family, but I'm happy to leave them behind when they're happy.

Thank you, JK Rowling for this last little story about Harry.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as I did the last two, but I still really enjoyed it.

The beginning was a little slow and I still hate love triangles.

But it was action packed and exciting for a good portion of the novel. and we learn a lot about certain characters.

AND THAT CLIFF HANGER.

I'm excited for Legion.

I'm not entirely sure I'm ready to mark this read. If I mark it as read, that's it, it's over, no more book until next year. Sarah J Maas feeds my muse. I'm sad that I have to wait until May for a new book from her.

She's apparently decided to have no mercy on her readers though. That ending. God.

4.5/5 stars

I love this series so much. The world and The magic system are so unique and cool. I've never read anything like it.

I love the characters and their dynamics. There's a lot of them hovering in the moral gray area that I love so much. There are no true heroes or villains, only people who believe they're doing the right thing even when it might be wrong.

I can't wait to see what Josephine Angelini comes up with next.

The beginning was sooooooo slow and filled with pretty metaphors that made the story drag for the first 50ish pages. Lots of important world building and establishing the mc in those pages.

And then the story gets really interesting, really fast. As soon as I hit that point, I couldn't stop reading. The world was so well built with an elaborate landscape and gods/religion and interesting magic systems. I was invested in the lives of these characters and just wanted to see them succeed.

And the plot twist at the end. It slapped me in the face. I gasped and looked at my brother and expected him to share my shock because it was so big. (He didn't. He was just confused.)

I know a lot of people have put it down just for the beginning but its honestly worth the read. I cannot wait for the sequel, whenever it may come.

As always, it was a classic, fun story from Uncle Rick. There was so much humor. It kept me laughing and smiling the whole way through. I can't wait for the next to see where Apollo will go.
