I did a slow read of this - about 10 pages a day, not every day, over 10 months. I only have the vocabulary required to write shit post reviews, not the vocabulary to describe how deeply impactful this book was to me. I think everyone should pick this up at least one time in their life, what a beautiful book. And like the story behind A Confederacy of Dunces, what an absolutely devastating story about Pessoa’s life. 

This book is unnecessarily long and repetitive. Just bang already, you horny idiots. 

Ruthlessly tight writing. Short chapters. Jokes. Sad backstories with actual emotional impact. Hijinks. Mystery. This was mother forking Dee-lite-ful. My only gripe being that it’s fade to black and I’m just a big dumb horny idiot. At least we got to watch them keeth 👁️🫦👁️

Wow, you guys.  I did not think Kresley was gonna pull this off. Lothaire was suuuuch a freaking twatwaffle I didn’t think she’d be able to turn it around. I actually had to put this book down I hated Lothaire so much at about he 80% mark. And Ellie, girl, can we not jump some guy’s bones when we’re mad at him? Body betrayal storylines are weeeak.  It she did it! She turned things around! She got this dick to say

he was sorry and to mean it.

Also I found it delightful that Lothaire, the biggest baddie in The Lore, got paired up with a dirt poor hillbilly mortal from Appalachia. 🧑‍🍳😘

Over 150 chapters - each chapter is on average 3 pages.
Cringey POVs from the 8 year old and 12 year old versions of our FMC and MMC. Straight to jail.
Alas I am a glutton for punishment and almost made myself read this whole thing.

A super readable classic. Short and spooky. I’ve struggled to read Dracula in the past and just ripped through this book.
