Unexpected. Immensely glad I received it by happenstance and finally got round to reading it.

I couldn't put it down, I went on a bender with this book. I loved it. The writing style was refreshing and lent to an even quicker read. I wanted so desperately for this band to be real while I read it, to hear the songs, to see evidence of their brief existence.

I started out feeling like this was fan fiction written during the tv series down time, motivated by impatience for more. And that's not necessarily so bad, as I am a huge fan of the show, certainly always wanting more. It just seems like too much of a perfect little package. I guessed the remaining half of the story once I got about halfway through, but wasn't disappointed that I had. In some ways it's nice to know you'd figured it all out, but on the flipside, nothing beats a good but punching twist. You're not going to get that here, but it's still a nice piece of the story to get your hands on. Atwood gave us the beginning and the end. HULU has been filling in the blanks and now have a huge amount of time to work with, and I look forward to seeing how far they go. If you're a fan of the series and haven't read either book, now is the time.
3.5 stars only due to predictably

Good, clean, naked, time traveling fun. Not for your every day Republican.

I wish I could rate books with half stars, because it's not really a 3 but not quite a 4. It was definitely an enjoyable read for the most part. And it was fun to see that familiar character again.
