Different from what I expected... For the first 6 volumes, a lot was left unexplained, I still found the story compelling and want to keep reading but I found it slow. I also liked the art style less than other Tynion books I've read, my favorite panels were the ones with Walter. I liked the integration of past/present scenes. Story reminded me of Leave the World Behind/Knock at the Cabin esque.

I liked it, it was interesting, definitely may be a better experience not on audiobook because of the charts... Sometimes I felt like Spade was too critical of charities, made a lot of generalizing comments. I also would have appreciated more thoughts on how to not just serve, but include many demographics in a mutual aid group - this book teaches how to aid groups like disabled people, but how do we welcome and accommodate them into the space directly? And so on

It was good-ish... I really liked the art and characters, the vibe was definitely there, but the twist was so predictable and the ending was super abrupt. The whole story felt very coincidental, like nothing anything the characters could have done would have changed the outcome of the story😔💪

Definitely liked it less than Girl in Pieces, this one was just missing something from making me completely emotionally invested... Maybe it's because I audiobooked it. I love the way Glasgow writes YA, she's very straightforward and the way she writes her stories and characters and I like the way she approaches difficult subjects in her books.

The different voices for the audiobook was annoying, that's a problem I always have...I liked the MC a lot, just like Girl in Pieces, and I found her relatable even if I didn't relate to her situation. Some of the scenes felt a little implausible, it was just missing... something to really push me into the story.

I really enjoyed this deeply introspective manga, I can't relate to the subject matter but the emotions Kikuchi described are definitely universal to a lot of situations. The art style and writing reminded me of "My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness" and I love that series so this was amazing!! Definitely recommend this underrated manga, I read it in one sitting🩷

Very much half stupid half interesting but the art was sometimes cool

I liked it... But I barely knew what was going on😭I audiobooked this so definitely partially my fault but the skips between fiction/memoir confused me and the fictional story was impactful but felt sooo confusing. I definitely liked the vibes/themes!!

I reallyyy liked the story, it was so unique, had some horror/gore moments but the central story was really interesting and I actually liked Muriel. I wish a little more was explained where Avalon came from, and it did veer off territory in some spots (like the extended dialogue of the 2 guys who go to Muriel's house?) like just unneeded. Still very good and I'd recommend.

Woah... This was so depressing😭the art style really flows like you're watching a movie and it's paced so perfectly🤌 definitely a graphic novel I would recommend

Still hits the same as it did 10 years ago🔥
