Okay I loved this book! It might look like I had a hard time reading it because I started it in November and just finished it but it was only because the last couples of months have been insane and finding time to pick up a physical book was impossible 😅 In any other instance, I probably could’ve finished this in one sitting!
*
I’m gonna start with the reason that I couldn’t give it 5 stars and then talk about everything I loved about it! Literally the only thing that bothered me is that I hate the a boy teases a girl because he likes her thing 😬 it’s just icky to me and always will be so that’s the only thing lol
*
Besides that, I loved the plot, I loved the characters, and I loved the ending! This book really did feel like watching a rom com! It had all the hijinks and bad decisions while also making my heart melt and keeping me invested from start to finish! Being inside Liz’s head and really being able to feel her grief was the best way for this story to unfold. I think if it hadn’t been in her perspective, I wouldn’t have liked her because she made so many bad decisions lol but knowing the reasons why she was pushing people away and not letting people in made it so easy to feel for her! I can’t imagine the pain she’s dealing with in a time of her life where she’s supposed to be carefree and enjoying herself 💔 But anyway, I loved this and how she was just unapologetically herself!

Now Wes, I love Wes so much!! I honestly want this exact book but in her perspective because I live for the pining and I just want to see him pining after Liz while she has literally no idea! The fact that this dude didn’t even need the parking spot is ridiculously funny, like he literally just wanted her to notice him 😂 And like yes, I still don’t like the messing with a girl because you like her thing but Wes seriously has the biggest her and when it really mattered all he wanted to do was make Liz smile and make sure she was happy! He was willing to step aside so she could be with the guy she thought was perfect for her just so she would be happy. I don’t know, he’s just an adorable idiot with a heart of gold and you’ve gotta love him for it 🥰
*
Lastly, Liz & Wes just had the best banter and I loved that that didn’t change once they got closer and started to actually become friends! I loved that they were comfortable enough around each other to just be themselves. They just really are a perfect match ♥️

I loved this book so much omg 🥺 like my heart feels so full right now! I laughed, I cried, I swooned! Literally all of the emotions passed through me at one point or another throughout this book! Paxton & Baxter have my whole heart, these two deserve so much love and getting to see them fall in love with each other over the Christmas season was so special! I loved both of them individually and I loved them together. I adored both Becca & Nathan and how much they loved their dads and how much their dads loved them 🥰 This is a story about finding a family, about finding a home after waiting for so long to have one! This was a story about joy and sorrow and grief but most of all it was about love. Love in all it’s forms. How love is the most important thing of all! Love for your family, love for your partner, but also love for yourself! I loved the emphasis on having to choose to take care of yourself! I loved that this wasn’t just a story where once they got together, everything was magically better because that’s not how mental illness and grief work. You have to choose to take care of yourself, you have to want to be better, you have to do it for yourself. And yes, you need other people but falling in love isn’t an instant fix. And on top of them choosing to be better for themselves, they also learned how to lean on each other and be open and allow themselves to love and be loved back. Ugh I just loved this so much and it’s definitely going to stick with me for a long time!

This was really cute!! I’ve never read any of Talia’s adult books so I don’t have any point of reference but I thought this was a really solid YA debut!! Celine drove me a little crazy in the beginning, I thought she was way too harsh but as you get to know her and understand why protects herself with abrasiveness and obsessing over conspiracy theories makes so much sense and it was really easy to feel for her and root for her to work through her traumas! I loved Brad from the get go, maybe because I could understand his lifelong struggle with OCD or that it was easier to see the way he felt! I loved the way Celine and Brad’s relationship progressed throughout the story as well! It was nice seeing the ways they connected as kids and heartbreaking starting to understand what made them hate each other but all of it just made their eventual reunion that much sweeter! I also thought that the emotions and struggles were so accurate to two 17 year olds that are on the brink of the rest of their lives and that was really refreshing! Lastly, as someone that understands OCD very personally and long term, the way Talia wrote Brad’s OCD was just so well explained and it made me feel really seen! Definitely recommend!!

This was so cute!!! I loved Vivian & Malcom so much and really enjoyed seeing them fall in love with each other! They’re two very different people that have both done a lot with their lives but they lift each other up so much and seeing how easy it was for them to talk to each other, good around like kids, and hold each other accountable was so refreshing! I also love a good Royal romance and this one was so fun because it was royal adjacent instead of directly royal! I also loved seeing Vivian’s relationship with her daughter and Malcom’s relationship with his nephew!! I highly recommend the audiobook for this one too! Very much enjoyed it!! 🥰
