This was really cute!! I’ve never read any of Talia’s adult books so I don’t have any point of reference but I thought this was a really solid YA debut!! Celine drove me a little crazy in the beginning, I thought she was way too harsh but as you get to know her and understand why protects herself with abrasiveness and obsessing over conspiracy theories makes so much sense and it was really easy to feel for her and root for her to work through her traumas! I loved Brad from the get go, maybe because I could understand his lifelong struggle with OCD or that it was easier to see the way he felt! I loved the way Celine and Brad’s relationship progressed throughout the story as well! It was nice seeing the ways they connected as kids and heartbreaking starting to understand what made them hate each other but all of it just made their eventual reunion that much sweeter! I also thought that the emotions and struggles were so accurate to two 17 year olds that are on the brink of the rest of their lives and that was really refreshing! Lastly, as someone that understands OCD very personally and long term, the way Talia wrote Brad’s OCD was just so well explained and it made me feel really seen! Definitely recommend!!
