I didn’t love the first half of this book but the second half had me at the edge of my seat! I didn’t expect the reveal at all, I think probably because there was just so much going on and so many characters but everything made so much sense by the end! Also very much recommend the audiobook!

First and foremost, this was a beautiful story about queer and trans joy and Edward was really able to bring that joy to the page in the most honest way! Miles’ story was at times heartbreaking (his parents adjusting to his identity, body dysmorphia, and just the general horrors of being a teenager) but overall it was about finding joy in every part of your life! Miles’ found his joy from his friends, his family, the piano, and most importantly from himself! I also adored the supporting characters (not you, Cameron 🙄) Eric was a cinnamon roll that I just wanted to wrap up in a hug for hours and the way that he understood and accepted Miles for everything about him is so rare but so beautiful and so needed, Nina is adorable and I understand her sneaking cookies in her pockets when everyone tells her she can’t have anymore 😂, Rachel and Paige were complicated and messy but they both have so much love in their hearts and you could tell through their friendship with Miles, and Stefania is that teacher that everyone is afraid of but really has a heart of gold! I just loved them all! 🥰 I also loved how flawed Miles was because all teenagers, no matter their identity, are messy and make mistakes and are self centered but that doesn’t mean that he didn’t deserve love and forgiveness and acceptance and joy! The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars is because Miles’ obsession with Shane for 70% of the book got so annoying and I didn’t love how that whole situation played out but overall I loved everything else and highly recommend!!

This was a very fast read and just like the last 2, I loved it! It’s only 4 stars because I didn’t love the 3rd act breakup and how it all happened but I still loved Ryan & Fabian so much!! I loved how mental health was such a central topic in this book and specifically how taboo it is in the hockey/sports world! Ryan is such a sweetheart and seeing everything he had to deal with because of hockey and the culture was so heartbreaking! It was beautiful seeing him start to really come into himself and accepting that he deserved all kinds of love through his relationship with Fabian, his friendship with Wyatt, and his relationship with himself! Honestly just a really great addition to this series and I’m glad we got to see more of Ryan after meeting him briefly in Heated Rivalry!

UM EXCUSE ME, MY HEART!! I 10000% understand the hype of this because oh my god, I love Shane & Ilya so freaking much it’s insane!! 🥰 like I’m so tempted to just skip to The Long Game right now but I’m determined to read this series in order 😅 I just like don’t even have words for how good this book was. It was rivals to lovers at its finest and I honestly don’t know if anyone will ever compare for me the same way now. The journey these two took was fun and scary and hot and emotional and beautiful and heart wrenching and just everything! The way they went from rivals to reluctant hook ups to enthusiastic hook ups to friends to falling completely in love with each other is unmatched! Honestly a lot of their relationship journey and the way reading about them made me feel was very similar to Alex & Henry (in a very different way) but they have a very similar extraordinariness to them that just makes it impossible for you not to fall completely in love with them. Anyway, I’m gonna stop rambling now but I loved this book and I’m so so excited (and nervous) to get back to their story in The Long Game when I get to it 🥰

I didn’t really find the ending surprising? I think because I read a similar book a few months ago but I feel like a lot of the beginning hinted at what was happening anyway. Also I didn’t like any of the characters at all 😬 and WHY DID THE DOGS NEED TO DIE?! So unnecessary 🙃

I liked this way more this time around! I think it was definitely a case of just having read it at the wrong time because I’m really not sure why I didn’t like it last year 🙈 I think the ocd rep is fantastic and Aza is a really interesting character! I’m excited to watch the movie and see how they adapted this story to screen!

Realistically, this was probably a 4.5 star book but Scott & Kip are just so adorable and lovable and they made my heart really happy so 5 stars it is! Longer review to come when I gather my thoughts! 🥰

This was one of my most highly anticipated new releases for 2023 and it honestly really fell flat for me. I’m very much a dialogue person and this book was probably like 60% description. It got really annoying every time a scene changed and we would have to learn every detail about the setting and the clothes everyone was wearing. I honestly just wanted it to get to the point 😅 it got really good at about the 85% mark but at that point I was already pretty over it and just wanted to be finished. It did have a good ending though so I guess that’s a plus lol I think many people will enjoy it but it just was not for me 🤷🏻♀️

For some reason, I love stories about people being stranded on deserted islands lol (also, does this actually happen? Like are people ever rescued from deserted islands?) This book had a lot of potential but it was just kind of boring? Overall, it just took a really long time to get to anything actually happening and you would think that a story like this would be action packed. I also wasn’t very surprised by the reveal and the explanation for why the person did the things they did, didn’t completely make sense. I did love the ending and how the girls stuck together and explained to the guys the reality of being a women in the world. This wasn’t a bad book but it was just really forgettable so I can’t rate it any higher!
