This book was heartbreakingly powerful! I read Speak as a teenager and it’s always stuck with me. If you enjoyed Speak or any of Laurie’s other novels, I recommend this one! It being told in verse made it extra special, I think!

I’m really struggling with deciding what to rate this one right now but for now I’m going with 4 stars? The beginning of the book was very slow but once I got into it, I didn’t want to put it down! My main issue is that I really hated Sonya about 95% of the book and I had such a hard time rooting for Coley & Sonya to end up together even though I knew I was supposed to. Like my favorite parts of the book was when Sonya was at dance camp and Coley was able to start loving herself and trusting her dad and finding new friends. I kind of feel the same way I did about the movie Happiest Season, like I loved it but Sonya was Harper and Coley was Abby and both Coley & Abby deserved so much better than Sonya & Harper? And like a lot of the reason Sonya was the way she is makes sense and I felt bad for her but she was still ultimately awful? I don’t know, the four stars is mainly because I love Coley and she deserves the world 🤷🏻♀️

This one had so much potential but just ultimately fell really flat and honestly felt kind of pointless? The first half kept me really intrigued and I was dying to know what was gonna happen but then the second half was boring and then didn’t really answer anything… it just left me with a lot of questioning and barely any resolution 😬

The fake dating and wager aspect of this book is what really hooked me and while the wager part was great, the fake dating just really fell flat! I really loved the first half of this book. The banter between Hallie & Jack was so good and watching them both failing on dates and then debriefing afterwards was so much fun! Also their text exchanges were such a good addition to the plot! But where it fell flat for me was the second half of the book when they started “fake dating” at the wedding. It was just so obvious that nothing about their relationship was fake, they were literally having sex behind closed doors constantly? Like there’s no one there to fake it for at that point 🤦🏻♀️ anyway, overall it was a cute story with fun characters but not a favorite!

Wow!!! This is the best thriller/mystery I’ve read in a long time!! There were a few things that I guessed towards to the beginning but this had so many twists and turns that really it kept me guessing the whole time! The final reveal was such a good payoff (though heartbreaking) for the constant guessing! I think having Naomi be the narrator with her unreliable memories made the story even better because it kept you enraptured right along with her as she unraveled what really happened to her! Just wow, I really enjoyed this!!

I really thought this one was gonna have a higher rating 🤦🏻♀️ I really enjoyed the first half of the book but the second half just felt really off? Like the pacing became weird and it felt super rushed but at the same time, I couldn’t wait for it to be over… overall, I really liked Aiden & Chris but there was just something missing 🤷🏻♀️

This was so good 🥺 it took me a few chapters to really get into the story but once I did, I really loved it! I think the 2nd half of the book was especially great!! I absolutely adored So This is Ever After last year so this one was one of my most highly anticipated books this year and it did not disappoint! Rook & Sun’s Frenemies to Lovers journey was so great!!! And if you love a found family trope than definitely pick this one up!! Just overall really enjoyed this one 🥰

I actually really enjoyed this one! It was pretty predictable but it did a good job at keeping me guessing! I did have a suspicion on a big aspect of what happened but there were also things I didn’t expect. Overall a very enjoyable ya mystery that I’d definitely recommend!
