smth running thru yalls heads,, this is a v difficult and important read, i'm sure, but there were so many inconsistencies within characters themselves mere pages away and it was insufferable :/

tw: rape, sexual assault, post-traumatic stress, victim blaming

ok i forget how good the beginning of this series is and now that i'm rereading it!! WOW!!
(triggers at the end)

i just love reading the progression of nick and charlie's relationship, they're so good at communicating with each other while also having the slip-ups teens have, you know? alice is a legend with writing teenagers and their turmoils, and the way they interact with each other, and it's shown perfectly between nick and charlie. :(( i just want the absolute best for them

also, the side characters are fantastic ! as always, i love all charlie's friends, and i love seeing the beginnings of this squad hehe and i'm a big ol softie for darcy and tara, the mini-comic at the end??? SO FUN, they're so playful and fun together. oh obviously aled,,, please read radio silence if you haven't yet and love aled, he's such a delight

trigger warnings for
homophobia, bullying, mild violence

the paris trip is ICONIC for many reasons: the party coming out scene, the teachers, tara and darcy content, ALED LAST, and much MUCH more ugh love it

trigger warnings for
mentions of disordered eating, talk of self-harm (cutting), outing (aftermath), homophobia

idk why more ppl aren't riding for this book- it has everything i've ever dreamed, AND it's setting is [chef's kiss] we love flavour!

get on this shit if you want lush, wonderfully diverse and gorgeous worlds, body double/doppelganger for the hated princess who you slowly come to love, a dreamy love interest you root for the whole time who's the definition of a big teddy bear :(

already have the next book borrowed and ready and i'm SCARED! also, am i remembering wrong, or isn't the next one ,, sapphic? idk but i'm excited either way

DNF for now lmao i always forget to take this off currently reading pls

*4.5 stars
