one of the best i've read this year- FINALLY, a great book ugh

*4.5 stars
(triggers warnings at the end)

this is a very emotional book, i don't think i was expecting that but it was satisfying by the end.

i do have to say: nishat is much nicer than i could ever be. if i was in just half the situations she found herself in, i would be bitter as fuck- but i think that makes her very lovable, like, she was my favourite character.

there was the barrier that i did not see the consequences for those who wronged her were ever what they could've been, and it left an odd taste in my mouth, but hey, i'm not nishat so :( none of my business who she ends up associating with lmao

triggers warnings for
homophobia, islamophobia, xenophobia, outing, racism, bigotry, bullying, harassment

(triggers at the end)

if zaf was a real man, he would restore my faith in men real quick.

reason the rating isn't higher is because that last 10% had some contrived conflict- a little better than in the last book, but still quite unneeded imo

trigger warnings for
panic attacks, sexual content, grief, death of a loved one, car accident, past toxic relationship

*3.5 stars, rounded up for the morrigan heh
