A stressful read ... both MCs behaved in ways that didn't ring true, and the drama in the last third was totally OTT. I'd've been very happy with just the psychology side, did not need a thriller-plot to hype things up.  

If you've not read Nicky James before, I'd recommend starting elsewhere (Love Me Whole, Trials of Fear series.)  If you have, maybe calibrate expectations ... the premise is interesting and Jason's depression is very well-described, but it's not a very romantic romance and there's IMO just too much drama.
