I picked this up at the library very randomly, wanting something warm and kind to read (had been a hard day!) This lovely story fitted that bill nicely, without being soppy. The characters are rounded and realistic (though I had many questions about Lara's finances!) -- in general, though, no-one's too good to be true or too awful to live. 

It's fussy, but I would have liked just a little more description of the area and what it was like to live there. I live in England myself, and felt that it could have been transplanted south of the border without issue. This is a good thing in terms of it feeling 'like it could happen anywhere' ... but for me it wouldn't have hurt the story to make it feel more local, Scotland is plenty different to England when you come down to it.

All in all, I'd happily recommend it to avid romance readers who like contemporary settings -- and am genuinely boggled at being the first reviewer.
