One sudden action unravels Adam March's high-powered executive life. After losing his job, wealth and family, he is given a second chance by an unlikely benefactor -- an ugly, scarred pit bull mix whom he aptly names "Chance''.
Adam March rescues Chance from being euthanized, a common fate for dogs who are forced into the cruel life of dog fighting. "I once was powerful and feared. Now I was loved. A much bigger deal,'' the dog states in one of the chapters he narrates.
Chance's observation is slowly realized by his owner during his painful journey to find redemption and ultimately happiness.

Unusual thriller in that you know right away who the killer is, but the suspense is in how he plans to get away with it.

A wonderfully engaging story of an immigrant family covering 100 years of history. Lonely characters, beautifully written -- a must read debut novel!

Young JFK is tapped by Roosevelt on a secret mission. I especially liked Jack's interactions with his siblings, cold and distant Rose, and his disapproving father. Exciting story held my interest!

This is one of those books that came into focus slowly. The moral issues it raises are compelling, but if I told you what they are I'd give away the experience of the book.l It is beautifully written. I still think about this book and I read it years ago.
