One Good Dog
by Susan Wilson
One sudden action unravels Adam March's high-powered executive life. After losing his job, wealth and family, he is given a second chance by an unlikely benefactor -- an ugly, scarred pit bull mix whom he aptly names "Chance''.
Adam March rescues Chance from being euthanized, a common fate for dogs who are forced into the cruel life of dog fighting. "I once was powerful and feared. Now I was loved. A much bigger deal,'' the dog states in one of the chapters he narrates.
Chance's observation is slowly realized by his owner during his painful journey to find redemption and ultimately happiness.
