I loved everything about this book from the politics to the relationship between the two main characters Shen Zechuan and Xiao Chiye. The characters were amazing to read about especially Shen Zechuan he is very interesting and complicated in many ways because of what he suffered and his want for retribution for all the wrongs committed to him. I liked Xiao Chiye even with how it all started with a kick that nearly killed Shen Zechuan he becomes rather interested in the main character their relationship is a real enemies to lovers one that takes awhile to develop. I really liked how the politics of the story were told it takes a little while to understand but it is well worth the read. I really loved the plot it starts with a younger Shen Zechuan being beat on because of what his father did and nearly die with Xiao Chite kicking him and nearly finishing him off after that other things happen they meet again and fight and then slowly get involved with one another while many things happen in the background with it all ending with them sleeping together. I am really looking forward to where this series goes next.

I really enjoyed this book it was a great foray into paranormal romance for this author I loved everything from the characters to the story. I really liked reading about these characters especially Misery she was very unique in many ways does things her own way only cares about certain people at first I also like Lowe and his sister Ana they both added so much to the story. The romance was set at just the right pace with both of them slowly getting to know one another and falling in love along the way. The other characters added so much like members of Lowe's pack added so much to the story helped to understand the animosity between the two species with the members of that pack starting to realize Misery is different than what they had encountered before. I loved the plot it starts with a marriage then shows the reason for the marriage and how Misery has been treated all her life never really belonging anywhere with Lowe she finds both a place to belong and a love worth fighting for with how it ended there should at least be one more book it was teased at the end. It has been a long while since I have read anything like this it was well worth the read.
