I loved this book the author never disappoints everything from the characters to the story was amazing looking forward to reading more of the series. The characters were great to read about I especially loved Piper, Ash and Lyre all three added so much to the story. What I loved about Piper was her determination to get where she wants and her strength both of will and actual strength and I like when she really starts to care she won't give up on someone. What I liked about Ash despite his cold demeanor on many things there is so much more to him looking forward to where his and Piper's relationship goes from here. What I liked about Lyre despite his flirty nature he is an incubus after all is he is loyal and willing to what he can for those he cares about. The story was really interesting it starts with Piper doing her job as a apprentice Consul and Ash doing what she should of and her getting in trouble where there are things with both Lyre and Ash after awhile something terrible happens and she and Ash, and Lyre are blamed for it so they are on the run to clear their names and to rescue Piper's Dad many things are found out and it ends with Piper saying she will not give up on Ash looking forward to reading more.

This book was really unique never read anything quite like a great gothic mystery with a good amount of romance thrown in. I really loved Tillie for her uniqueness her intelligence and her determination to solve the murder of her sister even if she did spend much of the story on drugs not really her fault since she was injured at the beginning and doctors in that time period relied on those types of things as medicine even if she did become dependent on them by the end. I also really liked Ian from whom she learned of her sister's murder they get closer I really loved their romance it was all well written and he just fits so well with Tillie. The story was great it starts with Tillie saying how she just always does or says the wrong things and her sister helps her she then gets injured right here is where she starts to take drugs and eventually becomes dependent on them she meets Ian who is a newsie finds out about her sister because determined to solve her murder this leads her to finding out things the killer is found out and we have a nice happy ending will read more books by this author.

I loved this story and characters and the ending was perfect it just the perfect amount of steam I just loved this book will read more by this author for sure. The characters are great as always I especially love Stephen and Crane their chemistry is at high level as always they would still do whatever to save the other. The other characters are great like Merrick and Saint they also have great chemistry even with the age gap it is still interesting to read about. The story is amazing people are being robbed and it is being pinned on Saint as always Crane and Stephen are targeted by the bad guys things happen evil people die and there is a happy ending to be had looking forward to reading more by this author.

I loved this book so much this author never disappoints I love her writing and characters so much looking forward to whatever she writes next. I loved the characters so much especially Liv and Calder they fit well together had a connection pretty early on. What I loved about Liv was one her strength both of body and character her willingness to do what she has to to protect the people she cares for after so much was taken from her. I loved Calder for his understanding how he treats Liv would do anything so that she would live. There are other great characters like Armund Calder's Father a wise and strong man who gives back just a little of what Liv is missing. I loved the plot a great Viking story of loss and vengeance as well as a romance for the ages it starts with Hodor having vision telling his family with only Liv believing him things play out like the vision and Liv loses everything and gets the help of a Norn to survive and get her vengeance so she sets out to kill the one who massacred her family meets a great love and a new family and finally those she loves is avenged and she now has her whole life ahead of her.
