ok so usually miscommunication is so annoying to me as tropes, but i didn’t mind it in this book because the angst and mutual pining it created were *chefs kiss*

i hate red flags irl but when it’s fictional and it’s adrian volkov…? now that’s a different story!

adrian and lia’s relationship is so toxic, i love it because of how iconic it is. this book gave us so many good moments: adrianlia origins, the birth of jeremy, and the whole tense as fuck overarching plot and all the mysteries!! also the ending in this one??? it has me on the edge of my seat no matter how many times i’ve read it!!!!

the mexican-american and immigrant community were represented well, which was nice and refreshing to read. and while the two mcs were cute together, the pacing was too slow and the plot overall was too predictable.

i've wanted to read alessandra and dominic's story from the moment we met them in King of Wrath. and after reading, i can say this book satiated my curiosity.

i had my doubts going in because of all the negative feedback people gave, but i can say they were dramatic. at least, for the most part.

people were expecting dominic to exude alex volkov (from Twisted Love) level of groveling, but in my opinion, that really wouldn't have worked for ále. dom's groveling was unique. he showed her he still cared, gave her gifts and notes, but he also let himself suffer, because he knew how much suffering he put her through. he let her go, in hopes of her coming back to him. a huge gamble for him. the character development this man went through... he's become one of my favorite MMC from ana's books.

alessandra. what a beautiful, strong, brave FMC. i related so much to ále, it hurt. she spent her entire life caring and living for others, seeing her grow into her own and realize she could support herself and stand on her own two feet was amazing. she literally came to know her worth and didn't settle. i adore her.

Our hearts had scars that would never go away, but they also glowed and grew with every new day that came to us.

the flashbacks in this book was *chefs kiss* and this might be an unpopular opinion, but i'm intrigued about the introduction of roman... potential spinoff series?

the reason this isn't rated more stars for me is because this felt more lighthearted than it should've been? not sure how to best describe it because KOG was marketed as a second chance romance, and the amount of angst expected in these types of stories wasn't there... BUT! this book was still super cute and enjoyable to read for me. the bonus scene (free from ana's website) warmed my heart too.

i'm a sucker for opposites attract stories.

kai and isa are my babies. i love them so much. there's just something so nice about this story where they were both unproblematic people who learned to love each other and their differences.

I wouldn’t trade any of my moments with her for all the calm and peace in the world. I thought I abhorred chaos, but somehow, somewhere along the way, I’d grown to love it.

only reason it’s not rated higher is because of the unnecessary third act breakup plot which didn't make sense for these two.

another boy-obsessed guy named christian? sign me up.

stella, my baby girl. i love her so much. she was a shy fmc who didn't speak her mind very often. hardly understood by those closest to her, she found comfort only around friends and fashion. she was selfless and too kind for her own good but the moment she came out of her shell and confronted her family was one of the most satisfying parts of this story.

christian is a wolf in a tailored suit with a nice smile. he became fascinated by stella from the very first time he saw her from a distance. truly became boy-obsessed. he claimed he didn't believe in love but would say and do the most romantic things for stells. he was so supportive of her and never downplayed the importance of her work, even if it wasn't suitable for his security profession. he defended her at all costs and helped her build her confidence.

Darkness was always drawn to light, but I wasn’t just drawn to her; I was fucking obsessed.

the storyline itself was the perfect pace of slowburn in my opinion. although there is a third act breakup that i usually dislike with every fiber of my being—customary with ana's books—the epilogue and bonus scene itself deserves five fucking stars and redeemed the whole story.

perfect ending to the twisted series.

note: after finishing the Twisted series, this is my favorite one out of the 4.

this book had so much potential, and it was almost my favorite, but i had to lower my rating because...i'm just so. disappointed. how is this the most popular book in the twisted series???

i really liked in this book in the beginning. i'm usually a fan of an enemies-to-lovers trope.

“Hell with you sounds like heaven to me.”

while i loved jules so much throughout all the previous books and also enjoyed josh in the previous ones too, i really didn't like josh chen in his own book.

like what the fuck was that plot line of josh doing that shit to jules... like???? it was disgusting. he literally lost all my respect after that scene and the fact that jules took him back right after made absolutely no sense for her character.

i finished the book out of pure stubbornness but i really should've dnf'd after that scene. ugh.

the reason it still even has stars is because of the other secondary characters in the story and the appearances of the other twisted mcs. not just that though, the plot was interesting... before that one scene and then it all went to shit.
