A clever, elegantly-plotted book that pulls off the feat of being better than its predecessor and all with a heroine to root for. Well done!

This should be a 4-star read, but what really elevated this for me was the joyousness of it, the camp of it all, the way it will break your heart and then mend it back together with a sash. By the end of it, I was thoroughly heartened, particularly as it hones in on the idea of 'found family', a trope I love dearly.

In my head, I've been calling this 'if Evelyn Hugo was a light-hearted, campy romp', the sort that should become a cult classic film, and I think it sort of fits.

I flew through this in a day. A fantastically done murder mystery love letter to the genre while also being a smart take on its tropes. 'Cabin in the Woods' for murder mysteries!
