This was a fantastic read. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to feel empowered, mad, and like there is some hope for change.
I happened to watch the Netflix movie Moxie while reading this and they really go together well.
The girls in this book are strong af and stick to their guns even when they know trouble is afoot.

I love the set up of having multiple perspectives. It was easy to follow. Each character was interesting and it was neat how each story intertwined with the others

A very cute ya vampire story. Vampire stories aren’t normally my thing, but this one was good. I really loved the inclusion of some many intersections. The story includes a really good on going metaphor for consent that is great for the intended audience.

I wasn’t hooked until I read a line and thought “this woman thinks her husband is cheating because she’s been reading vampire books”. Don’t worry, that was only in the 2nd chapter.
There was a lot of character building in part 1 of the book. With all the interwoven stories this was a good read. There are 2 main main characters with several other main-ish supporting characters. We get to hear all of their perspectives and it’s a really neat effect.

One of the best books I’ve read in a while. Lucky is so relatable that it almost hurts to read. yet it’s such a beautiful story of how love, culture, and hate mold our lives.

White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism
DID NOT FINISH: 24%
I forced myself to get through the first 40 pages and it was horrible. I spent the whole time scribbling notes, about some of the horrible comments, in the margins because I thought I was gonna have my spouse read it too. It wasn’t worth continuing.
Please read Ijeoma Olou’s book instead. https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/a9b9d368-867c-45d2-8809-a0e41281dc08
Here’s a play-by-play of my thoughts
—-
10 pages into White Fagility, thoughts:
-more about white people being averse to accepting their unintended racism
-seems like a good starter read
-written in the pov of a white lady
—-
20 pages into White Fragility, thoughts:
-def uses kid gloves, but it’s on purpose
-breaks things down in a way that is easy to understand
good starter read:
-if you think you can’t be racist
-if you have no clue what systemic racism is
-if you don’t believe in white privilege
—-
40 pages into White Fragility, thoughts:
I’m mad that this book is written the way it is, though not because of the author. I’m mad there are people that need a book that hand holds so much.
Similarly, I’m happy the book exists for the people who need this type of guidance.

The more I read White Fragility, I think more about how much $$ this white author makes on book sales, speaking, and workshops.
It would’ve been better if she’d co-authored so she could give the white perspective.

With an impending comet that is supposed to collide with the Earth, Noah navigates life. Life as Noah includes trying to figure out his sexuality, dealing with depression, and a disease guaranteed to kill him before adulthood.
I really love how this book is broken up by things like Flyers, emails, texts, screenshots of websites, and the like. My only complaint is that it’s a bit hard to follow the timeline. I’m still a bit confused, but it didn’t take away from the story.
