I had the pleasure of Beta reading this earlier in the year and completely fell in love with the range of characters. From the morally conflicted Mekai, to socially restricted Calla and traditionally oppressed Bisi, all had so much to give to the story.
There is rich worldbuilding and a great shapeshifter magic system which is wonderfully mixed in with the African American inspired culture. A great debut from a great writer

This book is by far my favourite. It has the most action, the most romance, the most politics and the most heart. Trista's relationships with her friends, new found family and allies elevates in many ways and takes many twists and turns which i really enjoy. Again, flaws with copy and other things which I'm aware of lol but i feel its an appropriate end to a fun ride!
I'm a sucker for an epilogue and HEA so this was a greta round up for me and is by far the book i'm most proud of in the trilogy. If readers make it this far, i appreciate the commitment because this was definitely a work of the heart.

I used to write a lot of romance growing up and even submitted to Mills and Boon once upon a time. This is that story! lol I originally added this story to Wattpad but when the site became a rat race much like everything else, I was inclined to stop writing there. As a cheeky treat for friends while they were waiting for another book of mine, i edited this and submitted as a kindle read for people to enjoy and i think its really fun. It has all the rich man/poor woman tropes about it and is simply sleek and sexy and i really like it.

As far as sequels go, I really enjoyed this one! As some may know, I wrote TAL as one big book and basically just split it into three in appropriate places to create the cliffhangers. In this way, I never struggled with how this sequel was going to turn out but I did know that it was going to be a major transition for Trista and her friends.
In this novel, Trista learns more about herself, about love and the realities of war. While again, there are flaws with this work that I hope to rectify later, this book is one of my faves if not only for the romantic element but the fact that Trista gains so much more agency in her character.
New characters are introduced in this book and the world is opened up considerably which i really enjoy and think holds a lot of heart at its core.
