Considering how much i had heard about this book, i was a little underwhelmed by what i thought was just an entire book of a girl moaning about wanting to be accepted by people that just dont like her. Considering there is the option to not be a part of their world, it was a little annoying at times. I also didnt particularly take to the relationship with Jude and Cardan as I thought it a little toxic

Same as book one, i was pretty underwhelmed but had to read this because i hate having things unfinished! More of the same of Jude complaining about her life, trying not to get killed and then abusing or not properly using any power she does get.

Ascension is an amazing debut! Set in a world that takes from Vikings/Norse themes, it is an intricate and daring and full of incredible characters.
The characters themselves drove the plot for me as all have a distinctive voice and add an element to the overall story that allows it to thrive toward the big reveal!
There is action, intrigue and budding romances as well as Elves and Dwarves akin to LOTR. The descriptions are wonderful though a little wordy but overall was a book that had me invested the whole way through!

I loved how technical and descriptive it was about the different types of dragons. Id never truly given it much thought and it was clear that this author had done all their research! It was amazing to read. I love the characters, i loved the ending but i would have liked a little more romance, thats just me though lol i didnt realise this wasnt a standalone so was excited to discover a sequel
