Nietzsche has this talent for writing in such a way that is baffling at first, but the more you read, the more you think you understand him...but then you read some more and everything else you've read is baffling once again. I feel like I'll be re-reading this for the rest of my goddamn life trying to understand it. One of my favorite Nietzsche texts so far.

I tried this once when it was first released and had to put it down because I wasn't connecting with the story. I picked it up again because some friends were loving it, and figured I'd give it another chance.

The story is interesting, as are the concepts of the other Londons, the magic use, and the rest of the world building. I just didn't connect with it much at all. I didn't feel much for the characters (except for Holland but even those feelings just sort of lost steam), and Lila drove me crazy more often than I liked her. Kell was cool. I guess.

I don't know. I liked it, but...shrug?

Absolutely destroyed me. I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH.
