Ugh, I am disappointed again. I love Ana Huang but these books lately have been so underwhelming and so hyped up, only to fall flat. I didn't feel like there was much chemistry between Asher and Scarlett, and there wasn't really a rivalry between Asher and Vincent. It was hyped up to be that, but it felt really lacking in this area. I also feel like this book could have been like 350 pages and not nearly 600?! I appreciate Ana for trying her hand at a sports romance but... I don't think so. Also, Asher is supposed to be British but I felt like he wasn't written very well. I just felt so boring and not that deep. Where's the quality writing? Where's the depth? Where's the real drama and romance? And for this to be marketed as slow burn when they kiss by 30%... it just didn't hit the way it was supposed to. It had so much potential but just was a huge miss for me.
Do you know how much BETTER this would have been as an MM romance?! Vincent and Asher had more chemistry than Scarlett and Asher did. Yikes.

This is the second book in the Denver Kodiak's series, and continues following Miles and Brooke's story. This book focuses more on Miles's career and Brooke starting her business, but still has their romance front and center as well. We get to see them as individuals, but also moving forward as a couple. They gain confidence in each other and their careers, and they get closer together. I really felt like they grew a lot in this book and their journey as a couple is shaping up very well. I cannot wait for the third book!
Brooke has been newly cut off financially from her mother and is desperate to make it on her own. In order to seal the deal of a contract with a sorority sister, Brooke must go to a reunion weekend which her ex will also be at. She definitely needs a fake date and who better than her brother's teammate? This book was really good! There's a lot of chemistry, banter, spice, and just overall fun times. Fake dating is my favorite trope and I thought the author did such a great job. Brooke and Miles had sparks flying from the very beginning, and I was really rooting for them, even through all the fake dating. It does end on a cliffhanger, and I'm excited for the next book!

Ava Hunter can do no wrong! It's not often that I get to read a grumpy/grumpy romance and she knocked this one out of the park. This is a slow burn romance but well worth it. It's in third person POV, but I fet like I knew the characters well and felt connected to them. The characters, both main and side, the setting, the buildup, and the background were all executed so well. The chemistry between Nathaniel and Ash was off the charts! The banter in this was also elite and I laughed out loud so many times. I loved everything about this and I know others will too!

I'm so sad that Evergreen Lake is a fictional place because I just want to live there and experience all of the magic! This is a cute Christmas novella and while it doesn't have spice like the others do in the series, it's just as wonderful and whimsical. I love how this book explored grief and how Amos and Holly helped each other while also falling for each other. This book does feature Holly's POV in first person, and Amos's POV is in third person, which is a little different than I am used to. Overall, it was a really cute and nice holiday read! Thank you to Shana Gray for the ARC of this book.

Another cute and fun holiday novella in the Evergreen Lake series! Ruby and Maddox have history, and Maddox is back in town as the sheriff, and Ruby is engaged to another man. Feelings between them never went away and she was the one who got away from Maddox. Ruby's fiance isn't the greatest and now they're both having a hard time fighting their feelings. Their story is full of emotions, steamy, spicy, and some humor... and a deer named Murray! This is a definite must read for your holiday season!

Some parts of this were cute and good, but overall it fell flat for me. The time jumps led to it being choppy and not as fluid, making it not flow well. I haven't been as into this series as her others, as I don't think the books are as good as her previous ones. I am looking forward to the other books in the series.
This is such a cute and fun holiday novella! This book features a small town, football, single dad, instalove type of holiday romance that has a great plot and serious spice. We have an NFL player who has been injured and sidelined that is visiting his brother while he recovers in this same small town, and he is also trying to get to know the son he hasn't been around since he was born, who is now three years old. Sparks fly, but not the good kind, because Noah and Gabriel get off on the wrong foot but it's explosive and the tension is quite steamy. Thay eventually come around and it's just so good!

I'm absolutely obsessed with Willa and Cole! I've been looking forward to Cole's book because of his past actions and how much of a troublemaker he was, but I was so proud of him! Willa and Cole were perfect together, and I thought the accidental marriage and subsequent fake relationship was great. Their relationship evolved beautifully, complete with flirty banter and sweet moments between them. I loved the community aspect and how there was the knitting club and hockey with the girls, and Cole really redeemed himself in the town's eyes. I loved Willa's journey of self love and self acceptance and loved the plus sized representation; I felt really seen because I related to her in that aspect. There was also a lot of suspense in this book related to the Herbert family and their father and I was on the edge of my seat. This book was perfection and I cannot wait for Noah's book!
This was such a cute holiday novella! Cole becomes a single parent when his best friend passes away and leaves behind his young daughter. Bethany returns to Evergreen Lake and is grieving but wants to help her aunt. Cole and Bethany have a flirty and hot meet cute, and Bethany later becomes Cole's nanny. There was lots of spice, but it also had a great plot that kept me engaged and the pace and flow moved really well. Both Bethany and Cole have things they are struggling with, like Cole not believing he is good enough, while Bethany weighs the idea of pursuing someone who may not want to commit. There are heavier themes, like grief and loss, but the author deals with them so well. It's an emtional book, but in a good way, and well balanced with fun and spicy moments. I really enjoyed this novella and it's perfect for the holiday season!
