 - DELE WEDS DESTINY is a beautiful character study of three wildly different women, whose friendship has endured across decades, distance, and differences.
- I was quite engrossed in their stories, particularly once we got to the flashback section and found out where the cracks in their relationships began.
- However, I found the ending totally abrupt. Not only did the book end at the climactic moment, but hardly anything that was unearthed in the flashbacks was addressed in the present day, and not in any let's-work-through-it sort of way. It was just told to us and then left there. I found it to be a bit baffling for a story and characters that had such promise.

 - I don't even know what to say about ALL MY RAGE. This is easily one of the best books I've ever read.
- I wanted to hug all three narrators so hard. This book is so heavy and they felt so real, especially when reading the book via audio, as I did. The narrator reading Noor's chapters in particular imbued the words with the most emotion I've ever heard in an audiobook. I absolutely cried on the Metro while listening to the last third of the book.
- I really wish I was able to articulate my thoughts better. Sometimes the better a book is, the harder it is to talk about, you know? Please read it if you're able to.

 - BODIES ON THE LINE is a narrative history of the practice of clinic escorting: of volunteers walking patients from their cars to the front doors of clinics in an effort to keep protestors away from them and have a friendly face with them as they arrive to their appointments.
- The book details wins and losses for abortion access since the 1970s as they relate to getting patients safely in and out of clinics, as well as the violence that has been directed at them and at providers.
- It paints a stark picture of what everyday life is at a clinic, along with the battles pregnant people go through to receive care.
- If you've wondered, in light of the overturning of Roe v Wade, how we found ourselves here, BODIES ON THE LINE lays out all the tactics opponents have employed to purposely bring us to this point.

 - THE ROMANCE RECIPE is another entry in the mini boom of queer cooking romances AND queer reality show romances!
- I loved that Sophie was just coming out as bisexual at 30 years old. There's a little biphobia around it, but for the most part, it's treated as joyful and normal.
- I found Amy to be a bit of a frustrating character, given her need for control, but on the other hand, the fights and growth she and Sophie had because of that felt pretty real.
- Also, this book is mega spicy. I'm so glad we're moving past having only sapphic romances where the physical growth of the relationship hardly exists on the page.

 - If you're into the recent wave of books filled with feminine rage, add SHIT CASSANDRA SAW to your list.
- The stories in this book range across a variety of topics, styles, and genres, but all are funny, dark, and a bit surreal.

 - A TASTE Of GOLD AND IRON is wonderfully lush, quickly building both an intriguing world and compelling slow burn romance.
- It's really an incredible feat the way Rowland has made the romance the tensest, most electric part of the story when the political plot is full of secrets, backstabbing and the fate of the dynasty hanging by a thread. But when Kadou and Evemer have even the barest of touches, all that fades to the background.
- This book is also wonderfully queer. Not only is the central pair achillean, but queerness is fully accepted, there are three genders with an in-language set of pronouns for them, nonstandard family structures, and an ace secondary character.

 - WHAT MY BONES KNOW is a masterpiece of a memoir. Blending Foo's personal story with the research she did to learn more about her own condition, the book sheds light on the little known and understood diagnosis of C-PTSD.
- Given that C-PTSD happens when there is extended, repeated trauma, this book also gets into generational trauma and the history of Foo's family and their traumas, which I think a lot of people will relate to, even if you're not of the Asian diaspora.
- I feel like I don't even know what to say about this book. It's so good. Please read it, and also go listen to @thestackspod episode with the author.

 - THE WEDDING CRASHER is a joyride of a romance novel, with increasingly ridiculous situations, great chemistry between the leads, and a stellar supporting cast.
- I also love a book set in my beloved DC: we aren't generally thought of as a romantic town, so I very much enjoy seeing characters visit shops and neighborhoods I love in a romance novel.
- Okay though, here's my issue with this book. Dean is basically actively searching for a nonromantic relationship. There's even a conversation near the beginning when he's quite sharp about how not everyone is "wired for romance." It's a perfect setup for having an aromantic hero. And...nothing. It's not quite "you just haven't found The One," but Solange definitely makes him change his mind about romance. It didn't put me off the book but was a bit frustrating.
