- The way Chou spotlights and skewers academia, leftists, Asian stereotypes and more is masterful. I alternated between gasping in shock and crying with laughter.
- The satire is just perfect. I usually don't love satire and find it unfunny and/or too smart for me, but this is just *chef's kiss* possibly because it takes only the slightest nudge to push academia into the absurd.

Minor: Police brutality
- MORAL CODE is what one might call an ethics thriller. Combining tense scenes of raids with discussions of what is and isn't moral, this book explores the possibilities and pitfalls of trying to use AI for the greater good.
- And what is the greater good? Rescuing a large group in crisis, or a single person in an emergency that might ripple outward? MORAL CODE chews on this and more.
- I was so intrigued by the many possibilities touched on in this book, from robots replacing human football players to nanobots finding paths through wreckage to rescue survivors.

- Is there anything more terrifying than reading a horror novel that is fully based in reality? WE HAD TO REMOVE THIS POST is just that: a barely fictionalized story of a group of online content moderators slowly losing their grip.
- The imagery in this book is unsurprisingly horrific, along with all kinds of slurs and nastiness. Pushing through that, though, is part of what makes this novella so great and awful: you're doing the same thing as the characters.

- This book is a hard read. Blair has been through a lot in her life. I also read the audiobook, read by Blair herself, and she breaks into tears at many points in the story.
- However, MEAN BABY also delivers on the celebrity front. Blair name drops with abandon, and takes us with her to fancy award show parties, photo shoots, and to hang out with the likes of Carrie Fisher and Karl Lagerfeld.
