- The way the many voices of this book weave together is masterful. Each perspective gave more dimension and life not only to Ever but to everyone and everywhere in his life.
- It's alternately uplifting and heartbreaking, watching these characters hurt each other while struggling to break cycles of trauma, but ultimately coming together to try again because their love stretches back generations.

- I adored the nerdiness of these band kids. And Yasmin is such a great protagonist: she isn't always the perfect person she wants to be and the book lets her make mistakes and learn from them.
- Plus, this book covers both religion and queerness in a loving, expansive way. Personally, I am grateful for the discussions of aromanticism and asexuality!

Minor: Sexual content, Religious bigotry, Acephobia/Arophobia
- I don't want to give the plot away, so let's talk about how fun and funny this book is. Chuck is a bit of a smart aleck, and I loved it.
- I also loved how this book shows Chuck wrestling with her ADHD on the page, and how it's an intrinsic part of her, not something to be fixed and eradicated.

- If you're looking for a lush YA fantasy you can burn through in a weekend, PRINCESS OF SOULS is the book for you.
- The magic system in this book was unique, and it was interesting to learn more about it alongside Selestra as she discovered the true history of her people over the course of the book.
- The Festival of Predictions part of the plot was a bit overcomplicated, but I was more than happy to follow Selestra and Nox across the kingdom as they tried to outrun their fates.

- MISTAKES WERE MADE is a joy. It's what I think of as the best kind of romance novel: sweet, spicy, and thoughtful. It also kind of felt like you were right there watching the drama unfold with your bowl of popcorn.
- I loved how Wilsner built the central relationship not just through physical intimacy but also emotional intimacy. You really get to watch them grow together in a way that feels authentic.

- THE SPEAR CUTS THROUGH WATER is one of those books that I simply have no idea how to review because it's so special. I've never read anything like it, and even at 500+ pages, I did not want it to end.
- The storytelling style took me a minute to get a handle on, as the narration drifts through many viewpoints and realities. The only way I can describe it is that the story felt liquid, and I was carried along the currents.
- The world Jimenez has created is vast and detailed, filled with so many characters with whom I would gladly spend whole separate novels. His writing is gorgeous and delicate. Even though this story is often harsh and violent, it is filled with tenderness for its characters.

- I'll admit that I've never read or seen CARRIE, though I know enough of it to know that THE WEIGHT OF BLOOD is a fantastic, updated retelling.
- Jackson's books are real page turners while also dealing with intense conversations around race and the systems that continue to oppress Black people every day.
- Even knowing from the beginning how this story would end, I couldn't put it down. The imagery is haunting and the characters deeply memorable. I'll be thinking of this one for a long time.
