- OCEAN'S ECHO is basically a sci-fi twist on the fake dating trope, and I adored it. Even more than WINTER'S ORBIT, which I didn't think would be possible.
- Tennal and Surit are perfect opposites-attract pair, and the slow burn between them is marvelous.
- This book expanded on the worldbuilding set up in the OCEAN'S ECHO, uncovering more history and more secrets along the way. Maxwell's detailed universe is masterful, and i hope she writes more books about other parts of it.

- HOUSE OF HUNGER is so perfectly chilling, creepy and horrifying and a total page turner.
- I had to know more about the bloodmaid system, and was rooting for Marion as she uncovered more and more secrets.
- This book is an exploration of love and power, and the darkness that can result from the two. I can't wait to read whatever Henderson writes next.

- This book touches on so many of the ways patriarchal society hurts women and pushes them down. I felt so deeply for Seraphina and was rooting for her to realize that she deserved to be treated with love and respect, just as she calls for other women in her writings.
- SPOILER! The one thing I found odd about this book is that Seraphina knows so much about pregnancy prevention and yet seemed to know nothing about how or where to obtain an abortion, or that it might even be a possibility. Like, it simply was not mentioned at all?

- THE CLOISTERS scratches that dark academia itch. I love a book focused on the strange and esoteric, and this book fits the bill with all kinds of details about art and the occult in the Renaissance.
- I did find the pacing of this book to be a bit off. I thought it lagged in the middle when Ann was kept out of the loop for a bit too long, and then the ending tumbled together quickly.
- Despite this and a few other character building quibbles I had (i.e., it should have been 100% more queer), I still tore through this book quickly and felt immersed in the uneasy atmosphere Hays built within it.

- KISS HER ONCE FOR ME is a joy: it's a holiday romcom centered around a ridiculous plan and alternates between being silly and serious.
- I loved the family at the center of this book. KISS HER ONCE FOR ME beautifully shows the many ways found family can appear in the lives of queer people.
- I also loved how effortlessly this book showed Ellie and Jack getting to know each other in a way that made sense for Ellie's demisexuality, which was always taken seriously.
