- Y’all! SO LET THEM BURN is so good! Dragons! Queerness! Jamaican history and gods! Life or death stakes! Love!
- I loved Faron and Elara and crew. I love a prickly girl protagonist, and SO LET THEM BURN delivers that and shows us exactly why they feel that way.
- This book blends the joy of fantasy with a close look at the destructive effects of colonization. The plot is fast and engaging, the world is detailed, and the issues it explores are real and important.

Moderate: Slavery, War
- And there is a lot of *really* hard stuff in this book. This is a slight spoiler, but I’m honestly not sure I’ve ever read a YA novel that has an abusive mom character. It was tough to read but I’m so glad this book exists.
- This book also includes characters who are fat, disabled, and sapphic, as well as all the main characters being people of color. Love it.

- Tia Williams does it again with A LOVE SONG FOR RICKI WILDE. Drama, snark, two people drawn toward each other in a way they’ve never felt before.
- Even if the plot is easy enough to predict, I loved being with Ricki and Ezra as they unraveled their story and fell hard for each other.
- Somehow, amid the over the top ridiculous family members and the paranormal elements, Williams gives us a fated mates story for the ages, filled with intensity and longing and love.

- If you love a fast-paced romcom, I’d like to recommend KEEP THIS OFF THE RECORD. This book is witty and drama-filled and has a little bit of a whodunit element to it as well. It’s plot heavy, which balances out the slow burn closed door romance.
- Abby and Freya are a good example of romance characters who throw out biting comments at each other, but are still willing to consider they might have misjudged the other.
- The secondary characters unfortunately felt a bit one note to me, though it was still a lovely found family group and I’m sure I would enjoy books centered around them.
