An absolutely perfect, sublime book. It goes above and beyond Annihilation, which is something I didn't even think would be possible, and the creeping, slow build had me silently screaming as I read it.

It's everything a sequel should be. Hell, it's everything a horror book should be. Easily one of the best books I've ever read.

This book is very much a product of its times insofar as how it approaches its LGBT characters, but the plot is very fun, it's a very down to earth (no pun intended) take on dystopia and cyberpunk, and it really makes it feel like it's a future not too far beyond our own.

The worldbuilding is very clever, sprinkled in here and there through headlines and advertisements and off-hand remarks from the main characters. It never goes too heavy on the exposition, nor does it leave the reader feeling like they're out of the loop.

I picked up this book mainly because I write serialized fiction myself and wanted to explore the medium more, but it was honestly an extremely fun book! The pacing was excellent and it all fell together quite handily, absolutely worth the read!

This was an absolutely masterful, haunting book. The use of limited 3rd person was FANTASTIC, especially showing how the house warps their thoughts and perceptions. Overall, a stellar piece of work and a must read for horror fanatics.

Plot or Character Driven: Character

This book was suggested to me by a handful of my friends and I have to say it didn't disappoint! I loved the build up and the pacing and I also adored the worldbuilding and how we slowly pieced together what, exactly, this world the characters were living in was like. It was a very short read but I felt like it was just as long as it needed to be. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I thought this was a very fun book, the premise on the back rocked and I wasn't expecting too much but it surprised me a lot! I thought the characters were fun :3 It's cool if you like urban fantasy and subversions of immortals/chosen ones tropes.
