Shut up, this was so good it has to be criminal. A romcom that's actually funny? Cinnamon's antics had me dying of laughter constantly. Fallon was an absolute dream, the sibling dynamic was immaculate, and I was living for the lesbian centaur. This whole thing was just constant adventure, humor, and felt like sunshine. Oh, and the smut? Top tier. Chef's kiss. Kimberly Lemming is now an insta buy for me.

I'm conflicted...I loved the premise, the setting, and the length of this book. It seemed very promising. It had its compelling moments but some of the transitions and chapters felt a little disjointed and I wasn't a fan of the ending. The ending felt rushed and lacked the substance it needed.

I had this on my tbr because it sounded interesting but wow, it was so much better than I thought it was going to be! The premise was unique, a thief kingdom and illegal magical drug substances, 3 sisters with amazing capabilities, well thought out magical system and immersive political intrigue. Dolion was such a sweet dad, Achak was one of my favorites, and the sisters had peak sibling energy.

A DNF at 40%. There was nothing I liked about Piper or her wealthy little circle or life. The flashbacks were meh at best. I didn't understand the spark she had with Kyle. Present day narration was boring as shit.

This was more dark and compelling than I originally thought it would be, but I love it! I like how there is this air of grim uncertainty throughout the story, but also a feeling of hope and perseverance. I found this story to be incredibly immersing and I couldn't help but fall in love with some of the characters. The only reason I'm docking a point is because the magic system is a bit muddy and confusing.

This is so disappointing:( I absolutely loved the idea of this but unfortunately, for me, the story immediately wasn't great. The characters, the dialogue, the world building, none of it felt like it was written well. I was super excited for the witches and dark wood but ooofff... Those were not fleshed out and was so hard to imagine. I was hoping for some spooky energy and this was incredibly boring. Also, the prophet?? The man is the definition of ick.

I feel like I may have a hot take because so many people seem to love this.

I love this authors ghost stories but this thriller... Wasn't exactly thrilling. Honestly, most of the book was just a big "ooooh what's gonna happen??" and once the thing happened it was "oh no! We have to do something!" and then a bunch of filler pages with nothing actually happening. Super disappointed.

This book was eerie, captivating, and beautifully written. The story has important aspects regarding family pain and anger, it felt relatable while still being horror. I loved the details and the depth that the author went into, it created such vivid imagery for me. The ending was not what I expected but oh boy, it broke me.

This is 3 stars rounded up. Honestly, I wasn't feeling the romance or the meet cute. The sparks just weren't there for me. I think Samantha and Bennett could've just stayed friends, because I didn't care for their little fling at all. I was more invested in Samantha and Tyler forming a healthy sibling bond and I would've been happy with the story being about their growth. A light, summery read but the romance was bland imo.
