This author has become one of my favorite cozy writers! I loved following Lana on another mystery and I loved how the mystery was solved. This was super fun and cozy and fast paced.
The way I fell in love with this... First of all, I love the plus size rep. I love a grumpy sunshine trope, and I love a sweet southern romance. This book was steamy, cute, and charming.
This made a unique and captivating twist on fantasy/mythology. The way I absolutely fell in love with Primrose from the first chapter, her badass nature was so apparent. The Grimm brothers absolutely grinded my gears but they did eventually grow on me. A critique I do have is the romance. It felt a little unnecessary and wasn't my favorite but maybe it'll make more sense in book 2. I think the author did a great job with her world building and character development. It was a fun experience.
I was surprised how much I like this book, considering the action doesn't really take place on the page and we learn more about fair value. I never particularly cared for Lundy but this storyline made her one of my favorites at Eleanor West's. I actually loved how the story revolved more around the rules considering Lundy is a rule follower, and it made the goblin market that more interesting to me.
So this was definitely the worst one so far, imo. The plot of this one definitely seemed to have more action and I appreciated being able to read about the other characters being together again. However, o really just don't like Jack and Jill and I never cared about their storyline so this was a drag for me. The vampire and mad scientist bit sounds cool but it was somehow both boring and too grotesque for me. It's probably my bias against Jack and Jill, but this one wasn't a vibe.
This was such an unexpected but amazing story for me. It was sweet, heartwarming, dramatic, and immersive. I loved our little characters and had the best time with this.
This was such a unique concept for middle grade fantasy! The Fae live in a terrarium which is slowly dying due to mold and it's up to our main character to go a magical adventure to save them. This has family secrets, high stakes, and a touch of whimsy. The nature of the dying fae aside, this book felt like sunshine.
The themes of sexual violence did make me uncom but I did think the author did a good job of navigating a heavy topic. The secrets and twists were so good, I loved how well blended these stories were. It's definitely a page turner.
This was vivid, imaginative, unique, and immersive. The world building felt dreamlike. I didn't particularly care for our main characters but I did love the aspect of floating series and violent storms and this strange world. This was more high stakes than I originally thought and that was a wonderful surprise. I'd give it 3.75 stars.
Considering most of this series has felt very meh to me, I was surprised I liked this one so much. I have gotten to love Cora a little more, I thought it was interesting to get to see a school that was the complete opposite of Eleanor West's. Cora hearing whispers from her door gave me shivers, Whitethorn had no right to be that creepy, and ultimately, I loved the storyline much more.
