Full transparency: I DNF'd at 25% or so. I couldn't get into the story, I didn't really like any of the characters, the writing wasn't that great. I really wanted to like it but it just wasn't good. It definitely is fast paced and I think it might have been too fast for my taste.

Uhh.. I think I've been catfished by a book?? This was horrible. I don't think I've read a cast of characters so unlikeable, the drama droned on, the details were overly complicated, and when all that wasn't going on it was BORING. Full transparency: I DNF'd at 20% and I absolutely refuse to read further. It's so sad because the synopsis sounded amazing and you get...not that.

I really wanted to like this and normally I'm pretty relaxed about cozy mysteries. But I didn't like Marla and I didn't like mystery aspect, everything felt off. Maybe it was the writing or the details weren't properly fleshed out. Either way, the story was just meh for me. I'm giving 3 stars because it's not quite 2 star quality.

I enjoyed this, it was a pretty good mystery/thriller! Really good suspense, some really good twists, and I enjoyed Lucy's character! This is the first time I've read anything by this author and I was definitely pleasantly surprised! It was well written and makes you want to devour it in one sitting!

Mystery, drama, murder, scandals...a fun time! This book really makes you realize you don't truly know anyone and to question everyone. It definitely kept me on my toes. It had the suspenseful atmosphere that I love as well!

Lily Meade did a a wonderful job with the storytelling! I loved the layers to the family dynamic, especially the relationship between Casey and Sutton. I was so curious about what happened to Sutton and the twists kept me going. This was a really good mystery and a fantastic debut. I can't wait for more from this author!

This is a book you need to read if you've ever thought about joining an MLM. DON'T DO IT. The author details her own experience and it's so sad to read about. I also liked that each chapter had an excerpt from someone else's own story from joining a scheme and it makes you understand how many people were taken advantage of and how they had to step on others to try to get to the top.

First book by this author that I've read and I really enjoyed it! I loved our main characters and their romance. The snobby jerk who is actually pretty lovable and the grieving friend trying to make it home for a funeral and how the sparks fly everytime they run into each other. I'm only giving it 3.3 ⭐ because sometimes the pacing felt a bit slow and it seemed to drone on but overall it was a nice story.

I didn't like the writing, how family issues and trauma became Brett and Becca's entire personalities, and how all they did was whine and complain. Yeah, they're teenagers, but it was just annoying after awhile. I didn't like them as individuals but I did like them as a couple and I think they brought out the best in each other. I'm also happy about the sweet ending.

It was okay, pretty basic though. I liked the characters and the unlikely romance aspect of it. Honestly, there wasn't that much that was unique about it but it was a quick and fun read.
