Nope. Didn't like it. Barely got 30% in and noped out. The writing is meh, I did not like a single character, and the grandma "only tolerating white ghosts" was an immediate turn off. I've read better. No thanks.

I love Kiera Cass' books so when I saw this I had to request it! I wasn't sure in the beginning...I was a little bored. But I genuinely loved Annika and Lennox and Kiera Cass makes these worlds feel so effortlessly magical. It definitely got better and I enjoyed the slow burn, enemies to lovers trope done here.

I love T. Kingfisher so I was excited to read this book! Some of the writing felt a little off, maybe rushed, but I was able to overlook it because the story was great. Our main character, Sam, is witty and spunky, the atmosphere is creepy and eerie, which I think the author does well. Also...insects. if you know you know.

Gotta be honest...I don't understand the positive reviews here. I thought I would love this because I think Little Women is such a sweet book but this...was annoying, boring, and not enjoyable. The characters were one dimensional, the conversations had no depth and we're painful to read, and Amy...couldn't stand her at all. I barely finished this book. I feel so bad giving horrible reviews but you want honest....this would've been a DNF if I didn't have to review it.

Another cozy mystery from Bailey Cattrell! Love how she writes her characters and their dynamics, and Poppyville sounds as cute as ever. I will say, I did NOT expect the killer. I did NOT expect other information about the killer after they were arrested either. Can't wait to read book 3!

I actually didn't realize this was part of a series when I requested it, but the author did a great job with giving enough detail that could be read as a standalone. I was confused for a minute but I was able to quickly understand what was going on in the story. Witty and enjoyable characters and conversations, spooky but not too much. Now I have to go back and read the first two books!

First of all, this cover and the illustrations were absolutely beautiful. They really helped with the vibe of the book. I liked the characters well enough and the secluded and woodsy little town was interesting. The book did skip around on time and it confused me, but it was still a nice read.

I can eat up a sweet, friends to lovers trope and I thought this book was written well. I liked the humor, the crochet penis in chapter one had me laughing out loud. However, something about the story just felt off to me. The characters, while I enjoyed them, felt a little underwhelming/underdeveloped for my taste and it was harder to stay interested in. That being said, it was still a nice story.

This book was so weird, silly, and even gross at times. Describing their cannibalistic urges actually made me shudder...and then someone would have a funny response and it made me laugh. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, but if mentions of cannibalism, murder, blood, etc etc creeps you out, I would pass.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! The cover delivers the vibes and so does the storytelling. A lake house, a mad man on an island, an ancient evil spirit... a great recipe for a creepy book! I loved how the author eluded to *something* the entire book without giving away too many details, it definitely kept me reading ~ I had to know! And the end, I had so many chills. I loved Claire, Revya, and Mariana. They were tough as nails and I adored how well they paired together but having their own, distinct personalities. I cannot wait for this come out, definitely picking up a physical copy!
