First, this is a beautiful cover! I was in awe of it everytime I went to read the book. BUT, I agree with a few of the reviews I have seen. The way the author describes mental illness and race can definitely be taken as ableist and offensive. There should have been better editing and honestly, some of that could been edited out considering how poorly it was done. I also agree that this book was SUPERRR slow and hard to get into for at least 40-50% of the book. I can definitely appreciate the way the fairies were written, as their evil and mischievous selves and there was vivid imagery painted. I enjoyed some of it, but a lot was hard to overlook. Also...Abigail sucked.

The cover is giving all the vibes! This suspense/thriller was done incredibly well, the characters had amazing depth and it didn't take much time for the action to get going. I really enjoyed the twists and turns, the town and the people definitely creeped me out, and that ending? I was not expecting it to end how it did, but loose ends were tied up, it made sense, and overall it was fantastic. From the beginning, how everyone avoids swimming like it's a plague, was so eerie...it had me hooked. I had to know why.

I love a fun and cute witchy story! I loved Violet as a character! I would have liked a little more detail so I could feel like I was in that space with the characters a little more, but overall, this was a cozy and enjoyable read.

This was such a cute story. Lahey is probably one of my favorite characters now, she has the best personality, and you just want the best for her. I liked the attention to detail as I tend to be a visual reader. Definitely picking up a copy!

I honestly didn't know how I would feel about the book, as I have never read April Asher before and I didn't realize until later this was a sequel, but I enjoyed it! It wasn't hard to umder what was going on although I would recommend reading in order. I loved having a strong female main character and I loved the supernatural romance aspect. The banter was witty and super cute.

At first, I was ready to DNF this book. Phoebe was so unlikeable at the beginning. Annoying, rude and b*tchy to Sam for no reason, and everything was attributed to her obsession with true crime. It was getting to be too much. But, it got better when she finally gave Sam a chance. It was a cute romcom, but Conner, Shani, and Lenore the cat were better characters. It was just cute and forgettable.

This book was a ride! So many secrets, scandals, ghosts...maybe. the first part of the book was slow but when it picked up...oh boy, those plot twists? I was suspicious of everyone at Somerset but I did NOT expect that ending. That ending really made this a 5 star read for me, it was such a well thought out and perfectly executed twist.

This was such a sweet and lovable story, and the representation was perfect. The characters have my whole heart. Definitely picking up a physical copy.

To be transparent, I did DNF this book after a few chapters. While it was beautifully written, my heart and brain just couldn't understand what was going on or understand who the characters were. The premise sounded intriguing and I'm sure it is to someone else.
