I've loved the Lux series and especially loved the last book, The Darkest Star! My little alien babies are just so fun to read about!
My favorite thing about this book, as with the last one, was Luc! He just lights up every scene that he's in! I still wish that these books were from his perspective or that it was dual POV, but that's okay! Oh, and yes, there was some magnificent swoon! And let me not forget Evie because she has some fabulous character growth in this story!
My only complaint was that the book felt too long. I think it could have definitely been scaled back by scrapping some of the scenes with Evie and her friends. Also, it felt a bit too political in some parts—I tend to like to escape stuff like that in books. But besides that, the writing was addicting as always and the descriptions and actions were so awesome! I feel like Armentrout always writes the best action sequences! I need book three!

The Ruby Red Trilogy is one of my faves of all time, but this one didn’t have the same amount of pizazz for me. However, it still had fun and witty dialogue with an interesting plot!
I’d love to hug this cover if I could for always, but I couldn’t get into this one!
This series has been my favorite since I first read the original three and still continues to be! I was excited to be back in Kenji's head because he's such an awesome character! He feels real, and his head is a mess with so many thoughts. And he's funny! But also emotional, caring, and loyal.
I really liked the scenes between him and Nezeera because, like him, we never know whether to trust her or not. But from this one novella, we learn so much, about him, about her, about the others! Of course there is a freaking cliffhanger that makes me want the next book ASAP!!

I love pirates, but have been let down with a lot of the pirate-type books! However, here is one that totally changed my mind! I'll also add that the cover is one of my favorites of the year!
Amora was pretty freaking awesome! I easily connected with her and what she was going through and had to face! Then there were the boys! I loved Bastian and Ferrick, especially Bastion, though! And Vataea has my heart! She was vicious and lovable at the same time! The bond between the crew was one that I would want to truly be a part of.
All I want in my life right now is to set sail on Keel Haul—that's the ship, by the way! The author put a whole unique spin on the pirate life with wonderful and vivid descriptions that had me captivated from one. Now, give me all the bones and all the magic, and I'm seriously excited for book 2!

I loved this book! It was original with two awesome demon brothers! It felt refreshing getting two male POVs! The lore was so cool!
It was packed with everything I could want in a book! Emotion, swoon, world building, and flames! Aidan and Keegan will stay in my head for a while! Highly recommend it!

I’ve always loved the movie, The Company of Wolves. And I found out it was based on a short story in this book. Needless to say, I was excited!
But! A big but! I couldn’t understand this writing!! And not sure what the heck was going on! This is probably my fault, but I guess it was too prosey? I don’t even know!

Love, love, love Oviatt’s writing! This was an awesome little thriller that was both gruesome and emotional. The characters were wonderful to follow down this suspenseful path! All I know is I need more by the author after reading this one!
