Another hit for Demmer! I was addicted from the very first page! It had creepy elements and a story that makes you think! Two of my favorite things!

I wasn't sure what to expect in this sequel, but what I got was something I didn't think I wanted or needed. But oh, how I did!

What I loved about this one was that it was a lot different than the first book! It took a different route, the way I feel like a place like Wonderland truly would. I loved Alice, loved Hatcher, and loved this story! There was wonderful character growth for Alice, and I feel like she very much discovered herself!

There was magic, and reveals, and emotions, and horrifying whimsy! The writing was on point and honestly, I want more of this world!

I liked the characters and the dialogue but I don’t know ... the book kind of felt wordy at times? I think it should have been shortened but the writing was good and the characters backstories were interesting!

ARC received via publisher!

I've really enjoyed this series so far with two guys' stories down and two more to go! So to be able to read a collection of  short stories on each of the wolves was quite the delight! Lucas, Dom, Finn, Tristan—my boys!

I liked all the the stories, but I think Dom's was the best—I loved getting a glimpse at little five-year-old Dom! Also, there are scenes between him and Lucas that was awesome with all their bickering! Tristan's was so good too, packed with emotion, and an awesome conclusion! Finn's had one of the best action sequences, and Lucas is one of my favorites so of course his was awesome!

Even though these are short, they are filled with backstory, emotion, and awesomeness! Can't wait to read rest of the stories on them!

Update! My favorite book of the year has a new release date! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

You have no idea how disappointed I am to hear that this book will not be getting published. People need to stop getting offended over things. This is a fiction book and it was seriously my favorite so far of 2019, so I'm completely heartbroken that the author felt the need to pull her book because of bullying.

A dark retelling version of Anastasia? I'm all in! I've read one other Anastasia retelling, Heart of Iron, which was totally different than this one but both were awesome!

Ana was my baby monster—she could do some pretty amazing things with other people's blood! We get another POV besides her, Ramson, and oh boy, this young gent had a mind full of things—betrayals, a dark past, a dark heart with a hint of light hidden in it. I loved him!!! And the scenes with him and Ana own my life!

The writing was so good, and the story was an incredible page turner. I was so scared of another book with a cliffhanger because I've started so many dang series that end on them, and while it is open ended because of the second book, it isn't the death cliffhanger sentence that I loathe! And I'll be ready for book two when it comes! Can I also just state that the freaking cover artist deserves a metal for the beautiful cover!

Wow! First, it was pretty cool that the main character, Ahnia, was a writer. And then we find out some pretty dang interesting stuff about her! Also her head was a very, very puzzling place to be! I kept wanting to crack her code!

I was captivated and intrigued from the very first page. And this book was covered in all kinds of shades of grays! And, Mac, my boy Mac! I was so thoroughly googly eyes over his character!

There was suspense, there was mystery, there was addicting writing, and a whole lot of me wanting to know what was going to happen next! And I loved that it was a quick read because I get tired of being bogged down with huge books all the time! I can't wait to check out more from this author!

At the words Edgar Allan Poe, this book had me extremely interested. Also, I haven't read a good paranormal book in a while, and I've been very back and forth with all the new books lately. So I thought that this would do the trick to slip into the past! And do the trick it did!

It took me a little bit to really get into this because I kept wanting Varen and Isobel to get together and have some real conversations! However when they were together, I loved it so much!!! What I loved best about this book was there was some great mystery and a whole lot of cool weirdness. I love weird!

The writing was so addictive, too! There were people I wanted to slap in the book like freaking Brad, and there were people I wanted to hug, like Gwen, Isobel, and Varen. Oh, especially Varen! I think I would have given this book ten start if I'd had his POV!! And seriously, that cliffhanger was so soul clenching! I'm starting book two right now!

Oh man, book one had a doozy of a cliffhanger! And so of course I had to dive right into this one! A paranormal world inspired by Poe is just one of the coolest things ever! Give me raven wings!

So we're back in Isobel's hometown. My boy, Varen, is missing in action ... for a very long time, I might add. This is where things get tricky for me because as addicting and page turning as this was, I missed him! I kept saying to myself, "Find him already, shoot!" Except more cursing was involved in those sentences! I was really hoping to see more of Isobel's and Varen's relationship truly develop!

However, I loved seeing the side characters again like Gwen, who had a much larger role here. Even Brad made me want to give him a hug—even though I hated him in book one! And there is more weirdness, and the weirdness I do love with all my beating heart. And then my heart got crushed with the cliffhanger!!!! On to book three now!

The last book, of course, had a super huge cliffhanger, so I was anticipating how this next book would play out! And unravel like a spool of yarn with interesting things, it did.

My biggest complaint again was, not enough Varen. Definitely more than the last book but still no real conversations or relationship development between him and Isobel. This would have all been fine if  book one had way more development and interactions between the two of them. I mean, they've only had one kiss and not a lot of real conversation, yet there is this love that drives Isobel to fight so hard for Varen in two more books without new development to their romance! However, I do love them together, just needed moreeeeeeeeee!

The shades of gray with Varen are awesome, and even Isobel has those same shades, of course not as intense as him but still. We all have them! The descriptions in this one were so good! Loved the dark things—ALL THE DARK THINGS! The writing and Poe stuff again, were just beautiful! Just a super fun and interesting series as a whole!
