I'm not the biggest fan of short story anthologies, but I find when they are written by the same person vs a collection of authors, I've enjoyed them better. So I wasn't sure what I was going to get, but the author totally owned all these stories! Loved the dark vibes!
This book has some of my favorite fairy tales—Little Red Riding Hood, Thumbelina, Snow White, etc. And let me just say, not all of them are going to have a happy ending and some will end rather uniquely.
The writing was beautiful and not overly lyrical where I didn't understand what was going on—it was perfect. This collection goes right into my favorite short story collection right next to Leigh Bardugo's Language of Thorns!

I was pretty stoked to read this book when my friend gave it to me. I hadn't heard of it, and you know what? It was awesome! Bring on the Ouija boards!
What I loved best about this book was it had quirkiness, weirdness, and fun times! Julie was likable and frustrating, yet cool, all in the same package. Clark was so cute and he seriously reminded me of Duckie from Pretty in Pink!
Overall, this is a fun little mystery that still had some good emotional aspects. The writing was great and I can't wait to read more from the author! This one will have a permanent spot on my bookshelf!

All you had to tell me before reading this book was Peter Pan and retelling! From the opening page you get to meet Peter and Tinc, and because this setting has Space vibes, Tinc's character was pretty dang cool! Honestly, I was a little scared about the space part, because I've only really liked the Lunar Chronicles. Other Sci-fi books have been too wordy and talk about crap I don't know! But fear not, dear friends, this is a fun space ride.
Also, you don't only get Peter's POV but Wendy's. And let me tell you right now, Wendy isn't like they frilly little girl in the movie, she's a Captain! Yes, there's some swoony moments. Yes, you get to hear Peter crow. Yes, you get to see some awesome side characters and an awesome scene with mermaids!
The writing was great, characters were fun, and the book kept me on my toes! The ending isn't a bad cliffhanger, but I need the next book, like now! So let's just say this was a fun space ride!

Right off the bat, I was extremely intrigued by this book. I've read three other stories by Duell, so I knew the writing was going to be flawless and the story would be unique. I was not disappointed!
First off, I'm going to say I don't get scared or need a blanket when reading a dark or creepy book. Instead, I'm more like, heck yes that was awesome! And there was a whole bunch of fist pumping with the nightmare descriptions!
The book is told in dual POV, and I already knew Sandman would be my favorite chapters—which they were. But Nora's were great too—she was a strong character that made choices for heself. Now, let's get down to swoony business, the Sandman was sweet and can I just keep him in my pocket? Also, I want to go to my own private sand beach like now, have a sand whip, and kapow it against the sand, just because!
So far, this is my favorite book by the author, fab-ab-ab writing and especially the world, which was such a cool concept. Loved it! Give me the next one, now!

So I've only read one Holly Black book which was The Cruel Prince. Also, I don't read graphic novels or any comic books really since I was like nine, and even then it was only the Archie comics. So I didn't know how I was going to feel about it.
First, the pictures were great! Seriously loved the illustrations. The graphic novel overall felt a bit lacking, but that may just be because I feel like I can get more of a story from an actual book. However, it was still really fun!
I did like the main character Rue—she had a cool vibe, but I still didn't feel like there was a whole lot of characterization here for the characters. Again, that could just be because it was a graphic novel. So if you like comic book type books and fairies, I'd suggest giving this one a try!

The coolest part about this book is the timeline style in which it's written. We get Emma's POV from the 1800s (Which is awesome), and then we get Mark's POV from 1988 (Which is also awesome). And there's some cool ghosty paranormal business that goes down!
Mark was hands down my favorite character. He had a fun personality to where he felt like a real teen boy and said some pretty hilarious stuff. Also, there was great diversity with his character. Emma was also a well-developed character—you learn and grow with her as time in her chapters passes. There were some lovely, gruesome descriptions, and I was chanting "Yes!" each time!
The writing was fantastic and addicting! I've loved everything I've read from Braun so far, and I hope to see more full-length books from her soon!

What an addicting story!! Intrigue, action, romance and wonderful writing!! I was sucked into Richardson’s world right away! It was gripping and fun and I can’t wait to read the next one!!
First off, I'm going to say this was a five star read even though what I have to say may not feel like it is! To start, anything that involve fire power, give it to me!
What I love about these books is the world—it has some pretty awesome and dark descriptions! I also love the historical type setting, even though it is a fantasy world. Also, I absolutely love Magnus! When I read book one, I probably wouldn't have said that, but since book two, my mind has been changed. Who would have thought?
Let's get to the nitty gritty—geez, Henrietta has been one character I've wanted to shake all along. The chemistry between her and Blackwood got real weird in book two and even worse here. Still not sure about the Rook situation either—she was all about putting him first before, but then barely thought of him in this book.
Cluess, though, has a way of keeping you immersed in the story and it's addicting words. Like I said above, her descriptions are fantastic. Besides wanting to strangle Henrietta a few times, I enjoyed this book much more than book two and felt it was on the same level as the first one! And that ending was perfection!

I normally find humor, especially with zombies, awesome! I mean, Shaun of the Dead and Return of the Living Dead for example are instant classics. But I couldn’t handle it... 😬
