Lovely writing but too much color talk!

This was another just okay read for me. I wasn’t a fan of some of the scifi elements, maybe that type of stuff just isn’t my thing. I did really like Amani and her poetry fetish. Although the writing was excellent and the romance was nice, I just wasn’t fist pumping over this one.

ARC received via publisher! The cover is so pretty!!

I normally read pretty slow depending on the book, but I finished this one rather quickly! I loved Rags! She was relatable and awesome! I will say in the beginning of the book there was a certain scene that hit me emotionally and that doesn’t usually happen! I was like, nooooooo! The pace was fast and there is a dash of sweet romance! Also it has a western theme! I’ve read one other YA book with that theme and was let down, but not here! Where’s book 2 already? 😂🙌🏻

The majority of new fantasy books lately have been boring me to tears. Too much time describing pointless things and no real characters! I was automatically drawn into the cover and blurb here, so I hoped it wouldn’t fall into that same endless loophole I’ve been stuck in! And I’ll have to say, this book was so much fun!

Finally, interesting characters! I loved Zera’s snarkiness and the constant battle she had with her inner monster. Loved Lucien! The romance is an incredible slow and beautiful burn, because Zera is on a mission to take Lucien’s heart, literally. The action was great with addicting writing! And that ending! Bring me book 2!

I’m all for stealing some hearts!!!

I know this is a novella so I wasn’t expecting anything too crazy. I just love this world in general, even though I was frustrated with some things here. What was the point of Mor’s chapters? Just felt they were out of place. Especially since this is a bridge between book 3 and 4, so obviously the main character who is in book 4 would have chapters here along with Feyre and Rhys but why Mor?

Also is Tamlin getting a book? I need to be in his head! I feel for the beast and think he’s changeable. Also why the heck is Elain so rude to Lucian for no reason? I could see if he was being a creep and stalking her ... just don’t get it. I want to see the Nesta who we saw in book 3, not whatever she has become. My baby Azriel, I need a full book on you! As always, the chemistry between Rhys and Feyre was on fire. Overall, as a novella, I feel it was a good glimpse of what is to come... I just wish the full book was coming sooner!

Did someone say voodoo? Because I really needed some voodoo! I’m all about the quirky and this book had lots of it! Seven had to have been my favorite character! He was funny and adorable! This book also had a touch of darkness to it that made it really hard to put down. I felt the book was very character driven, which is one of my favorite aspects when it comes to book because they don’t feel computer generated and I can really connect to them. Overall a unique book that doesn’t get lost in the slush pile of the generic things that are out there!!

Don't know what to say... I'm bummed about this one... 😞

I’m super picky when it comes to contemporary, but I loved this one! Zae was relatable in her struggles. It took me back to high school...loving your friends, sometimes being jealous of them. But no matter what, you had each others’ backs. Also the book had boys, a lot of boys! Especially one particular cute one! The poem moments were sweet, and I seriously adored the ending!

I normally am not a big fan of reading anthologies with short stories when they are by different authors because my level of liking the stories fluctuates. However, I have read several stories by Demmer and was excited to see there would be an anthology with only his written words. He’s like the king of horror short stories! Anyway, this was a cool ride through tales with dark stuff, fun stuff and all around cool stuff! Gritty and dark while also being thought provoking!
